Unless you're doing shortsells (which is part of the problem imo), there is no predictable wave period at this point.. This applies to both scenarios ;)

Stock market = business' Las Vegas minus the glitz.

They are just gambling away money, I frankly like the idea of the stock market being so votile to the point where it just shows the publid to invest and be smart with their money.

when I refer to buying gold, I mean actually just going out and buying gold- secondhand stores are a mine for underpriced gold. none of this investment stuff.

What do I do? Invest in precious metals; more ARs, more AKs, and more ammo for everything. They're made of metal and can be pretty precious in a bad situation.
