I understand there's a mistrust element to dating or sexual activities through the internet, but why is it so shameful for a person to want to jump immediately to video or voice discussions?
We embrace this textual, idealistic world of interactions as a method of protection before someone is trusted with their face or voice. Yet, before the internet even existed, the basis of all human to human connections is through immediate facial and vocal interactions. It's how we feel a person out. It seems paradoxical to try to safeguard your livelihood by living through text, where any one can be any one.

Besides that I'm shy and if face to face was easy for me, I wouldn't meet people online.
The basis of human interaction has changed, and unless the internet and such ever go away, we have to start thinking in a new light. The fact that face to face/voice to voice has been the base for thousands of years is meaningless when a new world is born.
