Waterboarding is ok WTF?
Iam watching Tv. Some stuff about medievel juristic n stuff.
Everyone knows that there was torture and stuff back then but wait, what did i hear there...
"58% of all Americans approve the use of Waterboarding today!"
Before one says "Dont believe everything that is on TV"..i made a little research and i have to say iam shocked. There are so many people who say "We should use torture again, Waterboarding should be a valid method to gain knowledge".
For all who dont know,
Waterboarding is a method that gives the victim the impression of drowning without leaving marks on his body and stuff.
Water is filled in his mouth untill he gets the impression of drowning, then he's "rescued"
.. this is only one method of torturing. What will be next? Will they use the iron maidon again?
Iam not quite sure how to think about it but stuff like "But personX killed X people with his attackes" is no valid argument to me.
You shall not bath your hands in the same water they do *shivers*.
Sorry, just room for a little rampage

In the bedroom however, torture to a degree is welcomed
That, and torture is immoral, unethical, illegal, and is a tacit invitation for likewise retaliation. That it could potentially produce intelligence that would save lives is irrelevant, because there's a world of difference between those who die that deserve to live, and those who live that deserve to die --- and that difference is whether or not they choose to do something wrong.
It should be no surprise that the US military's "leadership" advocates torture, given the vacancy of moral and ethical character prerequisite to keeping their jobs for so long and getting promoted all the time.

i'll have a lot to read in the future
thanks for your comment and for reading/giving your opinion in this matter =)
It also typically leads to poor information. People who are tortured will just say anything.
The Americans have brought these problems on themselves with their long-term foreign policy, so I expect that such treatment will not be ending any time soon.
The argument "Waterboarding does not really harm the body" was enough for a long time to avoid any further questioning <.<
it makes us look bad but it also is worthless as fuck.
Yeah i understand your point. And surely you're absolutely right about other countries using such methods. Secretly.
It never ever gave such thing as an open questioning of people in wich 58% said "Yes its a good thing"
And please dont take it as a personal offense :)
I didnt post this journal to make americans look bad ^^'
Ya know.. as a german i get teached that being guilty is a part of our culture *coughes* (yeah bullshit when you ask me but hey..)
Its just.. yeah even if there is a dangerous situation i can say now in a clear head with time to think about it (the same condition those had who were questioned) I would not approve or even USE torture myself.
Iam no angel.. i feel hatred, i feel anger and hell sometimes i just want to beat the shit out of some people but i dont do it.
For humanities sake, i dont do it. Because the civlilized state that we live in declares to us, that we HAVE to act like humans, not like animals.
And even if someone else does it, is that no excuse for making a step back into the dark medievel times.
:)
Thanks for reading my 5 pennys
