Chevys can be really funky, if I can't find anything through normal means, I'll search through a few services @ my school. I heard of something similar before, but I can't remember the cause.
cool thanks. considering the rear wiper and 4x4 switch is located right next to eachother i'll probably take it apart tonight and see if anythings fucked up
i did splice something into the constant 12V at the base of the wiper switch, so it could be a possibility that something came loose (never got around to looking at it last night)
all the wires n splices seem to be intact. also threw it into 4lo and 1st and now it doesn't activate the washer motor. i know either the tranny or TC might be loose and shifts around a bit, sometimes making it hard to shift down to 1st and shift between the 4x4's, but i couldn't see how that would affect something that has absolutely nothing to do with the drivetrain electrical.
UPDATE! managed to squeeze under to take a look at the wires n such going to the TC and happened to find out why it's sometimes hard to shift down to 1st. turns out theres a fat washer missing from one of the shifter linkages and i think it's causing it to bind up. i find that as a releif for it means i probably don't have a bad motor or tranny mount like i originally thought. as for the TC though, it still has little problem shifting between 2HI and 4LO but it's a real bitch to get it into 4HI. like it'll sometimes go into 4HI if i'm already in 4LO but i can never get it to go straight to 4HI from 2HI. think you could maybe find some info on that while your at class?
don't think the 4x4 had ever been used til i got it in april, and as far as i know it's never been serviced. i've heard of ways to convert it into a manual shift so might have to look into that...oh, and btw, you and your torque converter can go to hell
i need a new computer? thats not what i hear. i hear all i need to do is replace the little motor that shifts between the 4x4's with some kind of manual linkage and i'd be good to go...and damn straight, i gots a TC and a TC. double TC all the way!
no no no...i have an auto trans and an auto transfer case. i'm saying i've heard things that that can convert the transfer case to manual...or something like that. and what the hell is hxc?
err, well theres no easy manual backup...there is a way, but you have to crawl under, remove the motor on the tc and from there you can change it with an open end
and yeah, the only thing that electronic T-case does is move the lever for you- it'd be very easy to convert.
