In that pic the hooves seem to ..
well I don't know how to explain what I mean
If the hooves grow out of the flesh then shouldn't the hooves be narrower than the part of the leg it is coming out from?
On that model the hooves are wider than the leg.
But it's not just on that model, it's very common in artwork for anthro deer and horses.
Is this correct though (in real life) or even physically possible?
yes or no question
(unless it depends on species)
Thank you.
And if the model in the pic is anatomically correct then let me know that as well.

In this picture: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4154518/ - I created a logical 'fur' . She's a HIndvalian, which is a genetically engineered deer. Long story short. I measured the front of my foot when I'm standing on 'tip toes' so to speak and set her hoof to that size. I can easy balance myself and walk (some :) that way.
Interesting statue!

So actually my question has nothing to do with anthros at all. (as well as having nothing to do with physically being able to support weight)

look at the horse and camel, for instance, in the pictures.
It is a common mistake, one that could be easily rectified by taking 5 minutes to check a reference.
Also, a very well versed and knowledgeable, long-time friend of mine has been working on an equine anatomy tutorial of sorts, and it starts at the hoof. :)

She's pretty busy, so she's been working on it slowly, but those concern the hooves and lower legs. I've got lot of resources on hooves floating around, it's just a matter of finding them. :)
