"Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them."
-William Shakespeare
Boy, nothing quite kills a good mood and cramps creativity than hitting a deer with your car. I’m fine, the front of the car’s dinged up, and I'm not sure of the condition of the deer, but let me tell you, it took a little bit to calm my nerves, especially after having heard stories about people hitting deer. In that moment between realization and impact, I was afraid that deer was going to come up the hood and hit the windshield. Instead, I think I hit it right in the hindquarters, and I took it off the ground while her momentum kept her moving the direction she was running.
Fortunately, I wasn’t going all that fast, and I had just enough time to hit the brakes. Not fast enough to avoid the doe unfortunately, but I’m fine, and while I wouldn’t say the deer is “fine”, I’m fairly certain I didn’t kill her. But dang, I wasn’t exactly in a creative mood after that. Seriously, she practically came out of nowhere, just jumped right out in front of the car. Never thought that’d happen to me.
