Attempt for a halloween movie night.
Course won't actually be on halloween but yea. I upload a movie now and then to a fun website for simple private viewing fun. Though these days I'm lacking a group to watch them with.
I made a journal like this long time ago for a general movie night, the routine is this, sharing skype details, mics aren't entirely needed but encouraged, however headphones/earphones/earbuds/headsets ARE a requirement. Echoing ruins movie viewing.
We all load up the movie and then on the grand count of 3, not before, not after, but on. Everyone clicks play, this generally keeps things managable accounting for skype lag and such.
But well, just lacking a group of folk who enjoy watching flicks, brit comedy shows and a few other funky things I can find. Plus halloween is rolling up and in my small part of the world it... typically doesn't exist. Been years since any of the regular four channels have put a horror film on at halloween itself. Plus the shops are just piling up with perishable Xmas crap. So this is a bit of an out for me.
Plus hell of a lot simpler than getting my streaming set up working...
But yea need movie suggestions, members, interest, fucking anything. Hell I'll even get round to posting some of my backlogged pictures at some point.
So far the line up is pretty paltry, memories just failing for horror flicks.
Here's the run-down.
John Carpenters The Thing. - One of those known classics for the practical effects. Also well acted, nice and suspenseful. Play the guessing game, win a speed-boat!
The Abominable Dr. Phibes. - Vincent Price, not quite true horror but a good film.
Garth Marenghis Dark Place. - Written, directed and starring the humble fabulous of horror, Garth Marenghi. Dark Place, a show so goddamn terrifying it was never originally shown and only recently unearthed for display.
With one potential being a personal... well, not really enjoyment, but it's something that sticks with me for it's horrible quality, Stephen Kings The Langoliers.
I'd stick up an Elm Street but I have the full set and watched them to death, same with Evil Dead. So yea, put forth some suggestions, communicate, it's good to talk.
Edit: Urgh not eaten yet and forgot to mention. This wouldn't be actually done on halloween, hell too many things to get through for that. So it'd be on the days before and basically whenever it's a good time.
Potentials
The Langoliers - 3 hours of... something, was originally a two parter tv movie now fused into a monstrosity. It's an, experience.
Hidden 3d
Dead Birds
Dog Soldiers
Phantasm 1 & 2
A nightmare Before Christmas (It totally counts... it does.)

FA+

I guess it was released as Hidden 3D, the dvd I have just says Hidden though.
Alien and Aliens are certainly fun ones though.
