lived where the power went off regularly several times a winter. every place like that we heated and cooked with propane. the space between the windows and the windowscreens became the fridge though. which was fine because the other side of the screen was snow, all the way to the rafters and beyond. kerosene lamps and candles too. fond memories. company town on the railroad, where they used to cut out the helpers and send them back down the hill. couple of pix somewhere in my page on here.
