Can I get some advice?
So I have some choices ahead of me. I have another smaller tax refund coming in sometime when we can get the money to send in the stuff. However It came to light yesterday that my life would be much much easier, if I had a laptop.
Problem is the things I want to do this year cost money.
I want to buy my new body suit which is $720.
I would love to buy a $600 laptop
Anthrocon (rough estimate) $500
furry cruise $1000+ (they..'voted' for the 2nd most friggen expensive choice.)
That's $2820 out of my rough $7,700 a year I make lol. Yes my work as it is right now is a joke I am working on getting a better job, but hell it's income.
If I choose to buy my fursuit and a laptop I can't do anthrocon, but if I buy the suit and don't do AC, whats the point in having the suit. It's really tough to figure out. And I'd prefer not to go into why I want the laptop, it's no anything insane but it would just make life much easier.

Also, sense your looking for a better job (much like myself), see if there's a place called "Express Professionals" near you. Its a 2-2.5 hour sign in operation, but they hooked me up with some better-paying temp jobs, and some of those can become permanent if you do a good job at it :)
He says that Bestbuy actually has a laptop up quite cheap! And with some great specs, of cores none of which I can re-call, as it was quite sometime ago he told me about it.
however, it was only in the $450 range.
And, quite frankly, if you browse about in the right places, you can find some very good laptops in about that range.
At least it'd be a bit cheaper.
and as for the argument on not buying the suit or doing AC equaling there being no point to the suit-- don't forget about this thign called a backburner.
Some stuff can sit there, still having meaning, just taking a bit to get there.
But, then, it all depends on your priorities.
What are you looking for in a laptop?
I was told nowadays you can get a quad core laptop with 4 gigs of ram for damn near nothing.
The last item being a lightly used Dell D810 laptop. 1.80GHz, I think. 4GB RAM Maximum. Has Win XP, can take Win 7.
Good battery, docking station, 15" display. Was going to ebay it for $100. I can get you the exacts if you're interested.
Of note, I can get Win 7 for like $60 with my education discount.
