Wacom Intuos 4 reviews? Tablet may be dying.
So I had my first heart attack with my tablet today, when the connection started flickering on and off. Which means the wire connection is starting to become loose. :<
It seems to be working fine now, but I know from experience it's only a matter of time before it starts to deteriorate.
My second heart attack occurred when looking at prices for the Intuos 4 tablets 0_o
And then I started reading the reviews....
Apparently Wacom Intuos 4 models have gotten a lot of bad reviews for chewing through pen nibs like crazy (2-3 days!?), USB connection issues, and the surface area is much rougher. This makes me extremely nervous, as I will have to eventually buy a new tablet. Intuos 3 models are only sold as used on sites like Ebay....
Anyone use an Intuos 4 and have/don't have these issues? I wouldn't mind an honest opinion from someone who owns one.
Thankfully this doesn't seem to be a pressing matter, but something that I will have to deal with eventually. :/
[Update] after some research Wacom may still offer repairs for Intuos3 models, so I may just do that instead (much much cheaper option!)

hehe think you could teach me a few things in cs5? i really wanted to ask a few questions but my connection broke the other night. just note me if you can. i dont have a lot just a few quesstions.
- I did have issues with the nibs. I went through around 5 nibs in six months; luckily the tablet comes with a package of spares and if you use it a lot the matte surface starts wearing down and (it seems to me) stops eating your nibs. I know they make spare for the surface covers, but I'm not replacing mine because I'm cheap and broke and the smooth face appeals to me more.
-USB was also a problem. The connectors in the cable died after a year, but I just bought a generic usb and solved that too.
Hope this helps :)
The programmable hotkeys are also pretty slick.
