So. Umm. Does anyone know of a solvent that will melt/dissolve/remove acrylic, but won't hurt silicone?
I mixed a batch of acrylic wrong - I think the acrylic itself was old and had gone bad or something. The end result is a mold full of a sticky gooey mess, about the consistency of old honey. I have no idea how to clear the mold, and since the original was damaged to the point I doubt I could make another mold with it, this is the only mold I have and will likely get unless I completely resculpt the piece.

Try denaturized alcohol. MEK will eat sillicone for breakfast. You could try acetone but try that on a small spot first.

I eventually called tech support for the company that made the acrylic. I was told that Acetone should be okay used in small doses and allowed to flash off(evaporate) between doses should not do significant damage to the silicone.

Acetone-free Nail-Polish Remover.....maybe, check before using it.

I called the company that made the acrylic and was told acetone would be okay, as long as I used it in small doses and allowed it to flash off before applying another dose...
