I like male tigers, but I rarely comment. unless something evokes some sort of reaction from me I'll just look at it and move on, if it's a well drawn tiger then I'll probably fav him, but again, unless it creates a reaction that's all I'll do

That's the sad thing. Most people just look and move on. Makes me wish I didn't waste time even scanning my stuff.

the only comment I can say in regards to this is the same comment I say to every writer who complains that no one reads their stories. you need to do your art for yourself first. other people's enjoyment of it should be a secondary thing, a very distant secondary thing

Yes and that's the run of the mill reply. Unfortunately, it still doesn't fill the void. Under that rule, no one should post art public and even hope for anyone to like it.

Yea that's pretty much what I'm debating doing, well here on FA at least. I was going to leave but there are some people I am only able to communicate here, so that's out. If I don't post I won't get overexcited for comments, so that's probably the best solution.

There have been a lot of discouraged artists lately getting fed up with lack of comments and so much porn. I can't think of any realistic way to correct the problem. There are so many artists and the furs who are there to watch are just so lazy. (Me included) Commenting takes work if you want it to be a decent comment. (I don't consider "Nice!" to be a decent comment.)

Horse art I find gets comments more often than anything else other than porn. Now a horse with a bunny on it's head and a squirrel holding onto it's tail as it drinks from a stream, now THAT might get a comment. I find drawing with people on paintchat is a good way to get comments while you are working, which is good motivation, but not everybody has a tablet.

I guess it depends on what you call a decent comment. Hopefully more than "nice!", but even then it doesn't have to be this huge thing, at least to me. I like it when someone just says they like the picture, and maybe what they lke about it or if they laughed or critique, which is always helpful (something you usually leave :D )

I've kinda gotten lazy I guess...when people stopped commenting on me I slowed down on many of them :/

my taste in art is so wide ranging as for subject matter anything with afghan hound or other type of sight hound and anything with wolves and i love alll ratings of art from G -XXXX i love non anthro art as well and as far as commenting goes of late i,m confused as to who want and who doesn,t want comments since theres a bit of both types around here , i think artists should draw what makes them happy if its tame then draw tame art and if it,s porn then draw porn, but what i would love to see is drawing of afghan hounds hunting or running and playing *they are so beautifull when they run*

You're right in that an artist should draw what makes them happy, but it feels a little sad when you just get the vibe no one cares after you've worked hard on a picture, you know? I mean I feel worthless enough in real life, it'd be nice to get some feedback on the internet.

Sweetheart, face it, practically everyone here is surfing around for erotic art and it's just a tweak of nature that we "fiddle", with cartoon characters. After all, anthropomorphic art has always been an end-run around racism and cultural prejudice! Not half the people here are as open minded as they think they are when it comes to sex or relationships to other people, let alone humanity. What you draw is sweet and sentimental and is about love in relationships and most people experience so little of that anyway, that they don't want to waste time with it when they can see pictures with all the sex and none of the sentiment. You should never stop drawing what you like and posting it because there are always people who will find it and appreciate it for what it is. (and what you mean it to be) I wish you could attend an Anthro-Con because there are lots of artists there trying to do the same kind of thing that you are. (not as well!) They may not sell all the things they do either because "sex-sells", but the imagery is there and there are people who really do want to see it!

Yea *sigh* I wish it wasn't like that. You're right, the people here are not as open minded as they claim. I literally saw someone saying that "gay art was better, any other kind of art is a waste of time" and I was..a little stunned.

Lol..you mean like..meaningless sex art? XD Yea, I understand what you're saying. It's sad though. People should at least see what the sentinmental/love stuff is all about once in a while, if only in art. Oh well.

I can't quite put a finger on what art I enjoy exactly. I can admit to what appeals to me sexually or fetish-wise does. But I also enjoy incredibly thoughtful and heart-felt stuff as well.

I've been on a decline of comments I've been receiving as of late, getting only pairs or a number I can count on one hand per submission or journal. I'm trying to figure out a way around that.

Mm, taste in art is varied. I like varied though. Vaired is an answer I rather like to see. So from sexual - heartfelt, cool.

There's no way "around" it really, unless you're some insane popular artist with crazy skills and a SNOBBY attitude. The attitude is part of the equation.

Otherwise it's fair trade. I leave comments for people who leave them for me. That's the only real way around it.

yiffy is nice but...i like cute cuddle pics,nude or clothed it doesn't matter so long as there is cuddling involved...sadly...there seems to be a rather short supply of pics that make a person stop and say "awww how cute".
by the way.i like your art...you put a lot into your art and it shows...i would be most sad if you were to cease your posting...yet... I'd be sadder still if i knew that posting was making you unhappy(the hippie in me gets totally bummed out when it senses unhappiness).

thats true...plus,if you post less it makes the anticipation levels between each pic go thru the roof. so it mite generate more comments when you do post
