Commissions..?

Hey all,
I'm thinking of starting into commissions, but i'm still rather new in the scene, and not too sure if i'm really ready to accept commissions..Any advice?
Cause I was thinking of doing pencil sketches without shading(unless requested), so..should I try doing some commissions?

I have seen a number of artists start doing samples of there work they have done for others without asking for anything in return usually for friends or through different contests. Then slowly working there way up to ask for commission's. If you're serious about your art and would like to potentially earn a little extra cash to start then its worth a try.
