My Anthros Are Different Than How You See Your Anthros
14 years ago
"How does he have hair if has fur?"
"How does he grow facial hair if he has fur?"
"How does he shave his facial hair? Wouldn't his fur get in the way?"
"How did he get that tattoo without shaving his fur?"
"He's a dog and likes cats, but hates dogs?"
"Lol. He's a dog and he owns a dog. Whut?"
These are just some of the comments I seem to get whenever I post something that seems improbable. First off, please understand that not everyone is going to make their anthros the way you see them, or the way you think they should be.
This is one of the pet peeves I have. I just find it annoying that some people seem to think that how they draw or write their version of an anthro is going to be the next person's idea of one. (I probably worded that wrong. I apologize.) I have nothing against how you want your anthros to be, but please don't expect everyone else's to be like that.
As I have said before, My anthros are different. I treat them as actual human beings. They're basically humans that happen to look like walking, talking animals. They own pets like anyone else and they grow facial hair just like anyone else. I treat their fur as if it were skin. They refer to each other as man or woman, boy or girl, not by species. They have hands and feet, not paws. They don't have the instincts of whatever their species is. They have normal senses like a human being. Does it make sense? No, but neither does an animal that walks, talks and wear clothes.
That's honestly all I'm trying to get across. I see anthros differently than how some of you see them, and I'd like you all to understand this. That's all really.

Like i've gotten notes before to people complaining to me about me having pawpads and asking me to change it so i don't >.>
I don't give a SHIT if rabbits IRL don't have paw-pads my sona has them cause i want him to have them! D:<
Yeah, it's your character so who's to say what they should/shouldn't have?
Nevertheless, I don't actually care about dragons with hair or boobs. They're furries. There's no right or wrong way to draw them because they aren't a real species.
It would be like complaining that Vulcans have pointy ears or that Klingons have scrunchy foreheads :V
I like seeing anthros as humans they have problems I can relate too and identify with just have really neat animal inspired designs.
I have no problem with creators that treat them as animals but really this is what is awesome about anthros... They can be anything from a werewolf, a talking dog to a normal business man that happens to have wolf like design.
I quite like reading your characters bios.
It is kinda' funny when people say such nonsense, I mean... they're your characters after all, you can decide everything about them.
Even if it was, these are fantasy characters, they ain't real! if you can have a quad breasted gekko girl with wings, I can have facial hair >:D
If Goofie is a dog... And Pluto is a dog... In a world where animals walk and talk...
Does that mean Micky is just keeping a mentally challenged man as a pet?
Sorry, not trying to poke or prod. I don't see anything wrong with your anthros, though I do find the mental image of animals with facial hair amusing, it works with Anthropomorphic characters.
Besides that, you're an artist, you have Creative License~
USE IT HOWEVER YOU WANT~!!!
o.o
fantasy is pretty much transforming the world we live into something else, going from abnormal clothes and words to full fledged new worlds
and those that think that "realism is cooler" well, i kinda like realism too ^^, but "realism is the only right way", well... you're devoted...
"REALISM IS THE ONLY THING THAT SHOULD EXIST BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE DISTORTS REALITY!"
...
you sr. are needing very much a big "f***" you"
plus: no one has seen a antro in real life, so there is no wrong or right way if you don't have a reference, right? XD
No one limits my creativity and anyone who tried to limit yours should get bent
Why acknowledge all the idiots by responding to them with this? *Chuckles*
Then let the get to you, Art not always need to be explained. Important thing is there is a huge community that understands and support you. ^__^ Keep it up.
You're still my favorite artist. ^_^
Heheh, that's exaclty how I veiw my anthros, which was really annoying when one of my friends would insist that my guys should wag thier tails and stuff it's just like ugh, no it's wierd for them that's not how I like them. I don't get what's wrong with anthros effectively being human.
And the shaving thing might be... they use an special razor?
Also facial hair would be more like hair thicker and longer of what actual fur is
Naw, I knew this a long time ago. Hur hur.
