in my family we give each other lists of books/misc stuff to choose our gift from so at least there's some surprise come Xmas morn. (come to think of it, I'll add the Frank Book to my list... I've known about Woodring for a while but I've never actually read any of his books!)

I attended Small Press Expo in September - Jim Woodring, Marc Bell and Matthew Thurber had a panel on "Narrative Logic: Surreal and Obscure" which was really interesting - and Woodring totally stole the show; he's not only a great comics artist but also a great showman. If you get the chance to hear him at a panel or such, don't miss it!

Oh, totally! I would love to see him speak in person someday. That panel does sound really interesting, too!
