Best When On Something

After 2 stints at Burning Man and inspired by
birds journal, here's some beat-y tracks I've discovered. Definitely recommend listening while under the influence of something AND with the appropriate equipment. Bass if you got it!
Ghostpoet - Liiines (xxxy Remix)

Mt. Eden - Sierra Leone (Lion King)
Beautiful track, but the video's too long. The editing's strangely entrancing. Enjoy it for a bit :)
Gui Boratto - No Turning Back
Start at 1:45 if you're impatient
Magnetic Man - Man
The HARDEST bass drop I've ever heard. You've been warned.
Plan B - She Said (16 Bit Remix)
Professor Green - Jungle (High Rankin Remix)
One of the filthiest, fun, energetic tracks I've found :D
Frank Ocean - Novacane
Slower, but hypnotic. If you give it a shot, you totally get lost in it. Last shot's worth it, too.
Nicolas Jaar - Colomb
This is the most incredible album I've heard in 10-15 years. Not even exaggerating. Jaar's reinvented the electronic music genre - showing the kind of minimalist artistry that can be eked out of it. I EMPHATICALLY suggest turning off all lights and playing this album from the beginning. It's stunning, meticulous, spacey, and unlike anything you've ever heard before. It WILL take you places. My only nitpick is to remove the 8th track before starting.

It really is amazing how it just amplifies the experience somehow. It seems to make the music a more all-encompassing event, in a way.
There is one particular album, 'Dark Age of Reason', by Arcana, that I was so in the habit of listening to while laying in bed after smoking, waiting for sleep that if its songs come up in iTunes randomly, I'd get a sort of psychosomatic effect from hearing them.
Other individual songs that seem to really work well for me in that state is Pain of Salvation's 'Plains of Dawn', Nightwish's 'The Islander', 'Beauty of the Beast', and 'The Poet and the Pendulum'. Blind Guardian's 'Harvest of Sorrow' is another. Jordan Rudess' 'Ytse Jam for Piano' as well.
It seems that these songs that work particularly well for me (in general) tend to be slow and very heavy on atmosphere. They're also quite moody or sad, which is strange, because it's certainly not how I feel in that state.
A notable exception is that I also like to listen to Pohjannaula's 'Pässinpää' album like that, and that's quite upbeat and different from the others.
But overall, music just seems more enjoyable when in that state. :)
I agree that it helps when songs are slower. For me, there's a "smoothness" in songs that just feels so good! A lot of Gorillaz tracks have it. Also, the glitch hop genre's pretty good at making you wince in pleasure. Please, please, please do me the favor of listening to this high: http://youtu.be/jrHVffl4fTI
