I just noticed the updated species list on the submission page: there still aren't caracals on there :c

We have updated the species list on the site with some 104 changes (incl. new species and re-categorized species) to make it more accurate. Some exotic species (e.g. Citra, Crux) were added to the list based on how much they appear on the site. We know not everybody's species of choice is on the list, and more will be added in time as we get more feedback. We know it's not 100% complete.
In other words, keep badgering them (or whatever it is caracals do :), and maybe they'll relent.
