You should probably report these. It's fairly common for artists to mislabel their submissions with the wrong warnings, believe it or not. It's just strange that they never got caught beforehand.

I've been yelled at many times for even suggesting that works like these might be a little inappropriate to be labelled as child-safe material. Every time I bring it up people start assuming I'm a conservative prude that hates sex and uses censorship to get my way.

That's when appealing to the artists at any rate. I've given up hope trying to appeal to the admins for anything. Aside from just expecting inaction, I don't want to be repeatedly contacting them because then I would have their attention, and everyone I've seen hold the admins' attention for an extended period has ended up banned or harassed or excommunicated because they're so easy to offend.

Also people really shouldn't be checking FA at work period.

I see a lot of people turning it into a class argument. They want to upload as many "clean" or at least "tasteful" nudes as possible to show how they're such refined and progressive appreciators of the natural figure, not drooling perverts like those furries who are only in it for the sex.

I've seen the opposite, when I mark an upload as "general" people tend to ignore it. My mature submissions don't get all that many hits either, but my adult subs always get a lot of views, even one that happens to be a photo of a legal pad.

Probably more-so the nature of my watchers, I post a lot of porn and clean stuff is fairly rare so I probably don't have a big following for more general stuff. Had I started out posting clean stuff only the situation would probably be reversed. The legal pad I mentioned had a work-in-progress porn story written on it so the adult tag on the photo wasn't there for no reason. I'm just surprised it got as many views as it did when you can see in the thumbnail that it's a photo O_o

Very interesting. I posted that photo along with another marked mature, both on the same day and both into scraps. Both are "sneak peek" type photos. The mature photo is a picture I drew for my ex and didn't get a chance to scan right away, so I snapped a picture of it. As of now, 30 views with 1 fave and no comments. The adult picture is a legal pad I'm using for a story commission, I snapped a picture of that mostly as a joke, just to show what else I was working on aside from the picture. As of now, 43 views with no faves or comments. It has been consistently more viewed than the mature-marked pic since I posted both 10 days ago. Not a huge amount of views on either, but the adult-marked legal pad has always been more interesting than the dirty picture that's marked mature. The only explanation I can think of is that you can kinda tell what's going on in the drawing from the thumbnail, but to read the story on the legal pad you have to view full size. Yeah, let's go with that.

That's the other fun factor here -- views being broken on FA. I mean, I guess if they'd called the stat 'full views' rather than just 'views' (and if it worked consistently, which it doesn't always seem to for some reason) all our data could be a bit more accurate!

while i get that maybe some people are trying to use this as a method for more exposure
i think the dominant possibilities are that they either are losing perspective and don't really see it that way
and/or they don't really think there's any point in caring about categorization

after all, once you've had the safe-search turned off for a while, you forget that a porn-filtered FA is supposed to exist.

Most of the artists I've seen discussing it seem to genuinely think that these works are clean and would not seem strange to the general public, so I tend to lean toward the losing perspective theory.

yeah i've been oblivious before myself
and this was quite a few years ago
so the fact that i misunderstood not only the public acceptability of furry porn
but also the acceptability of really awful furry porn
goes to show how large those blinders can be

but sometimes pride drives an artist to seek any audience
