That's a shame. I love seeing your art. I like how detailed you are on all your futuristic art and lighting. I'd hate to see you stop doing that kind of work.

Don't know what was said and what went on, but I don't think its worth losing faith over the fandom. Albeit there are a lot of people out there which rub others the wrong way, or are just complete imbiciles, there are plenty of socialable and respectable people. Ignore the idiots, and worry about your true friends and your own life first :3

Trust me, I've gone through similar situations before, and its not easy to get those kinds of people out of your head, but with time and patience, you can get on with your life and be truely happy again :3

Seriously, take it from someone who's been there. These kind of arguments are like those "Chinese handcuffs" you get in novelty stores. The harder you pull, the worse you'll be tangled up. This kid can have little or no real effect on your life, and nobody will think less of you if you just let him run his mouth off. I understand the frustration at people with strong opinions who don't seem to be listening to you, but experience tells me he's probably just as frustrated himself -- and the only way he's going to calm down is if you let go of this. It pains me to come off as a lecturing holier-than-thou oldster, but I used to torture myself like this all the time, and I wanna save you the same kind of burnout and frustration.

I dropped it yesterday, but it continues. It's distracting in as much as I do care what others think of me here. As I said, when I stop caring, I have no reason to even involve myself.

I'm getting older and just have too much to do anyway.

That's good, hun. Yeah, I have had so much more success in my life trying to be Zen about these things. It can take a hell of a force of will, but it's worth it in the long run. Dont particularily like the idea of just suck it up. Sometimes things happen at the right time and right moment that really bothers people. No, sometimes sucking it up just doesn't cut it at all.

In being socially active with the fandom at large. Before 2006 I was not posting my art nor interacting with other furs. I'd of course keep the few real friends I know here.

Having a good experience with trolls on Youtube, I don't doubt it's the case. Sadly this happens on the internet, and idiocracy (as well as some people's ability to be concerned about other's lives when having nothing to do with them) can go beyond expectations.

even though you've already stated that what this person is saying is false, we're also not stupid enough to feed into that either. I mean. I've been there before, I really have- I've had to deal with people saying incredibly untrue things about myself, but. I both know and trust that my followers aren't going to believe them, especially when they know that this person and I have had no prior relationship and therefor they don't know a thing about me.

Crossposting my comment on the opposing party's most recent journal, which I was personally notified about by the author, since I believe it applies to this journal as well:

I refuse to be dragged into discussions the subject matter of which I do not comprehend, or at least believe I comprehend.

Also, I don't give all that much of a fuck. After having seen ridiculous amounts of furry drama just like this 'battle' of the two of you, It doesn't even sadden me anymore to see such hostility within this supposed fandom of ours. It's like lightning - a natural phenomenon, happening when two forces who can't help being opposed to each other meet, and something I can do nothing about. My agreeing or disagreeing with either of you will not prove either point, and will certainly not increase or decrease both of yours desire to act aggressively towards each other.

In spite of all that, I still cannot help but point out the utter pointlessness of spending so much effort on the activity of disagreeing with each other that both parties present, when the argument has clearly outgrown the potentially meaningful original subject matter, and has become solely about the act of discrediting the other person.

My point was rather that I just wont have any of it.

There is only one thing you need to take note of. Count the people on this journal thread and compare them to the one person who lashes out. Who do you hold more dear?
