Need Advice: Should I buy Skyrim?
Like the title of this journal says, I need some advice. I've been hearing a lot about Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It looks like it's a good game but I've thought that about a lot of games but then they end up letting me down (Fable 2, 3, Halo Reach...) and I'm left feeling like I wasted a good amount of money. Money is tight with me and hard to come by but me and Professor Awesome have been talking about getting Skyrim and we figured we might split the costs for it since we're both in the same financial predicament for the time being.
But my question is, is Skyrim worth the $60 for it?
I'd greatly appreciate any honest reviews and opinions of those who have played it. Though $60 may not be a lot to some, it's a big decision for me even if me and Professor Awesome will split the cost. I don't want to go and buy another over-hyped game that's all graphics and no gameplay. So is Skyrim worth it?
In other news, I got called back to the house yesterday because my sister needed a babysitter (a lot of drama going on with her and her boyfriend and all that) and it's up to me to once again drop everything that I'm doing and come at their beck and call. So I did but on the condition that I be financially compensated, which as of this journal has not happened yet. It just so happened that I was in the middle of coloring Demordicai Diamonds Page 57. I'm still a bit pissed because now I'm at my house. I intended to leave after getting the page done but I was needed "immediately" so it's probably going to be Monday or Tuesday before I can get back to Professor Awesome's house, finish coloring it, and then hand it off to Professor Awesome to clean up and get it ready for posting.
But I'm not all mad about being called away from DD57, I'm happy that it is all penciled at least. That part is the hardest and I spent all day Thursday penciling it. The last two panels were hell but it turns out that we're going to be about 2 panels ahead of schedule for the basic script of the current scene. That's a good thing that rarely happens, DD58 and DD59 should be easier for me to draw because of that. Due to my little set back with DD57 and its current incomplete state, I may be able to do a double update this coming week.
I've also been contemplating the thought of whether or not it would be a good idea if I just drew a bunch of Demordicai Diamonds Pages in black and white, say from now until the end of Chapter 2 for example, and then color the bunch of them once I'm done penciling them all. Right now, I color them as soon as possible right after I get the black and white done and I move on to the next page once the previous page is completely done and posted.
In other news, tomorrow there is going to be an early Thanksgiving meal at my house. Since everyone is going to be busy on regular Thanksgiving, we're having it early. I was out all day today doing grocery shopping and it looks like tomorrow will be even more grocery shopping. My mom wants a bigger turkey than the 14lb one we currently have so we'll probably give Professor Awesome's family our extra turkey.
That's about it for this journal update, it's just a short one.

One thing I will have to point out is that it is a long game. Be prepared to put 20+ hours into it. I tried rushing the campaign at first, only to be defeated time and time again by the final boss. You really have to do all the side-quests and level up in order to get anywhere. If you find you don't have the time to do lengthy gaming sessions don't get it!
Compared to other recent games, (such as Halo Reach and MW3) it is worth the money if you have the time to play it.
Thanks for the advice!
