I hear from several people that live in dryer climates that they enjoy a little rain here and there as they rarely get any. Kind of like how here in Washington State I love the summer because it does not tend to get too hot while some states have to deal with 100F plus or weeks at a time. If I had to deal with that I would not like summer either, what good does that level of heat do when you cannot even enjoy your summer. They would enjoy spring and fall a lot more. I do understand why people that live in other locations can enjoy it when it come about. Stating how it can get someone down in some manner if it happens too much.
Snow can be really beautiful, can be troublesome when it traps you for a week which is rare for my area. Just had first snow of the season and it falls into the cool not troublesome category.
A little bit of drinking during lunch doesn't hurt once in a while. I've never heard of Riesling before. Did you have red wine? I prefer red wine really with fish.
I'll never forget the night that the wind was so strong it tore a panel off of my Jeep and flung it about 100 yards into the sagebrush. Dad and I found our trash barrels in the neighbor's lot and the powerline started arcing behind us.
Then around midnight I watched the front actually come over Mt. Rose and you could see lightening illuminating bands of snow behind that first ridge to the North.
I don't know why people get so depressed by rainy days.
Smoked salmon sounds really good right now. :]
It was windy and snowy with a chance of wildfires....
