Ever felt like you're in the land of millk and honey...and you're lactose intolrent and diabetic?
This is a message to all artists. Today there was a great loss in the world of dragons, science fiction, fantasy, and writing world in general. We have lost a great figure piece. Today, we have lost Anne McCaffrey. I would like now to share with you this beautiful OBITUARY written about her by a Charlie Jane Anders.
I am coming to you, artists, because I would like to start of a memorial collaboration in the memory of Anne McCaffrey. For those of you who know her works, and even for those of you who don't, she did much to change the way people think about themselves, and she was a great inspiration to many people, myself the least I could include upon that list.
My goal is to get as many artist to donate a little of their time to this, each one drawing his or herself as a dragon and keening to the skies with me, in true Pernian dragon style, and even if you are not a dragon, or would like to pose as something else, you are MORE than welcome to mourn with us.
I would like to get as many people involved as possible, each drawing themselves and signing it before sending it back to me to send on to the next person. When it is done, I want to send it to Todd McCaffrey, her son.
I want you to be aware that I am not offering money for you to put your name on this list, and for some of you that will be a deciding factor, and that is FINE! Please do not feel OBLIGATED to do this, because then it will not be the piece I would like it to be. If you are not interested in donating your time to put yourself in, I only ask for one moment. I ask you to put this in a journal so that perhaps other people who watch you might become interested and donate their time.

I will, however, try to scrounge up some money for someone who would like to make the background for the piece. When it becomes full, we will simply start over with a new page.
I thank you for your time, and if nothing else, take a moment of silence for this fallen, beautiful lady.

Yes, most (if not all) of you got this. I sent it to some 57 people, I do not know how many (if ANY) will responde. I do not care if you are good at drawing, it is the thought that counts here. I do not expect anybody to go super crazy-fine-detaile and everything for this, I just would like SOMETHING, even if all it is is a signiture. But don't do it, if you don't mean it.

Wait, that's the lady that created the Dragons of Pern series O.O
Oh god...that's a horrible loss in the world. I loved her work, I spent my ENTIRE high school years reading ALL of the Pern books, and by all I mean every single one that I could get my hands on. Wonderful series, it was...

Most I can do is pray for her soul and her family...but even that feels like its not enough...
