Rat having their chicken

Just some fun. The ferrets and cats get fed raw, so we often have left over meat which the ratties get!

Its always human grade chicken sold for human consumption, and rats and most other meat eating animals can cope with some of the nasties we might not be able to. Added to which, salmonella isn't as easy to get from raw chicken as people think, its all a bit overplayed.
Rats generally have iron stomachs. They've been known to survive for a long time by just eating soap and drinking bleach. Plus, my rats used to catch live mice when we had a mouse problem in our shed, and never got ill. They're pretty hardy :)
I also LOVE how Picard looks these days! Such a lovely boy!
