Identity crisis

I guess this is a weird place to put it, but hell I'll say it anyway.
For a long time, I guess since I was a kid.. I've always wondered what English people were.
Now, I bet I sound crazy. But, we've always had the celts/britons (Welsh, Irish, Scottish) and then the Vikings (Danish, Swedish, Norwegians, Icelandic, Finnish etc.).
So I would often think to myself "what are we then?"
We arent considered Viking or Celtic. I knew Anglo saxons (old Germanic tribes) were behind a big part of the English population after the Romans left, and a lot of Britons were chased to the countries borders and shores, populating mainly Wales and Scotland. But that still left me clueless. I come from a family that's been 100% "english" for.. well.. seems like forever.
But I feel like I have no kind of cultural history once you get past the more modern happenings. No roots to embrace, I guess.
Wow, I sound crazy. But yeah. I love and adore history, always have done, always will do. So I'm always eager to learn about other peoples cultures (ESPECIALLY GODS. Nordic gods, Greek gods~ etc~)
Love to the crazy vikings. *bricked by

And personal one? Try mine, my family has 7 nationalities (first and second generation) it's a total mess!
History = Too many people think it is a stuffy subject but I love it :D
Well...you get invaded the least. Shit, the last invasion of England that didn't fall flat on its ass was what, 1066 with Hastings? Unless you count the Blitz, but that wasn't a real invasion. So yeah, there's that. My dad comes from Minnesota, where all the Nords and Swedes settled to farm after moving to america. Mom has a similar lineage, so genetically, i'm a viking, but I've lived in southern california my whole life, so i suspect it may not be terribly obvious, and i dont really identify with American culture too much.
Identity crisis? I know that feel.
Me mum's side immigrated to Canada when the Russian revolution started up, and they eventually married with other immigrants from western European families before migrating to the Canadian prairies. The Arabian blood comes from a marriage somewhere way back in family history when they were still residing in the Russian Empire. On my father's side, we've my biological grand parents, of which my grandmother was full Cree, and my grandfather was a Samoan immigrant. My father was adopted by my Swiss grandfather (as a Christmas gift, in fact!) and so we've never met his birth parents.
We have Bird's Eye fish fingers though. That's a plus, right?
