As most people may notice, it takes time until i get to try new stuff as games and movies, mostly due to my financial situation that doesn't leave much of "Fun money" at the end of month for me to purchase movies and games...only exception being the new Batman Arkham City, which i eaven pre-ordered due to the promisse i made to myself...lets say the game is great and managed to fix sum issuses i had with arkham asylum, but it aint as groundbreaking as the first part, but hey, its batman at its best, so i wont complain :D
But yeah, the reason im complaining is the fact i watched the three movies ive mentioned in the title for first tiem last week and yeah, im aware that everyone who wanted to see em allready did dat, but i still feel obligated to share my thoughts on these. Seeing theres "Avengers" movie planned, i decided to give em all the look, but yeah, the only reason im interrested in this movie is cuz of one character - Tony Stark aka Iron man. But yush, one thing after another...
Iron Man 2 is, in my humble opinion, best of the bunch, but that said only cuz i fucking love the Tony Stark character - cyniccal, egoistic and asshole, acted over the top that much that in the end, i just have to love him. As in the first movie, they sacrifice most of the story to show how fucking rich this guy is, altho not as cheesy as in first movie...but still cheesy enough ;D The problem these movies have is, in fact, Tony stark - the emphasis is set too high on him as Character, altho he doesn't make any notable development in the course of the two movies - hes still an ass, less of it now, but still...the whole movie comes as too short and eaven if they managed to put some more action in this one then in the first part, it still feels rushed, since they tried to fit too many story arcs so that all of em seem underdeveloped: we have the story of him getting weaker and dying due to his generator, the story with the russian guy trying to take revenge, the story of how he passes the company to his skinny secretary, the story how government and other company try to get the suit and blah blah blah...the Russian guy fell completly flat as main villian, the last battle against him lasting not longer then five minutes (guess their budget ran out hurr hurr) and never seemed to impose any threat - probably cuz he only fought two tiems against iron man and bit the dust both times and also cuz everytiem we see him, hes just tinkering shit and goes fuck it all...i couldnt feel any true hatred against Tony Stark nor the wish to carry out his revenge - he was just doing it, as if he had no other, better things to do. In the first movie, the whole story arc was mainly about Tony Stark coping with the change and taking responsability, and i thought they're done with the whole character development, but nope, second movie starts again from point zero or tony being an shmug and does the same development again while trying to juggle as many stories as possible. Still, i enjoyed the movie - the action wasn't so bad, wobbly at the times but not transformers like, when yer lucky to catch the glimpse of fighting robots in the third act. CGI did mostly well, but there were minor sillyness, liek the silver Iron Man suit. All in all, its an average movie and I only hold it better then the rest of the trio infernale cuz of Tony :3
Captain America was next on the list. Most people...or lets say, ALL THE PEOPLE i know, told me it sucked bawls - boring and visualy bad. I would also say its boring, but i watched Thor too, but more about it in next paragraph ;3. I must say, that reading comics was never great part of my youth, expecially American made comics - i grew up with Asterix, Lucky Luke and in my teen years, ive read sum Spawn comics and bunch of Lobo :D That said, i havent had much encounters with Captain America (xcept the cover where he suckerpunchez hitler) so im not at all trying to get about the story behind the comic. That said, the story was utterly boring. Most action scenes came as montages, the main enemy was hillariously over the top and it was riddled with plotholes...I would rant about it, but the fact is, the whole movie in uninspiring "The red dude wants to destroy the world, woopeedoo..." I didnt eaven felt the patriotism wibe some people pointed out - its just an average super hero movie, thats worse then Iron man, but still better then Thor, it just leaves me cold. Eaven if the Main Hero is Jesus and doesnt develope, like, at ALL, in still go meh on this one. Two hour Epic story minus story and epic is just...two hours. But yeah, the plotholes...Why would he choose random people he saved as his "Team", seeing he doesnt know any of them at all? Why would the Bad Guy lift a cube that destroys him, unless the writers couldnt find any better use of him? Why didnt Nazi germany just wiped out the Hydra, eaven after they killed high officers? Why is the Hydra Salute so fucking silly!?!
Thor is the weakest of the bunch...its just lamest one with worst story arc ive seen in my life...well, worst ive seen in a while. What really bugs me about it is the fact that there is, or better, should be an character development, as hinted in the end of the movie, but ive seen none, zero, nada...but first things first, the visuals are really a matter of taste - I, for once, liked them. The design of Walhalla and puting it up in Space (there are just few things you cant improove by putting it in front or in nebula...), but then, the Armors and weaponry look so fake and plastic, as if none of costume guys gave two shits while putting em together. Story is another thing - its actualy more boring then Captain America. Theres not eaven an Villian worthy of that title - the frost giants? No, they got their ass handed everytiem, no matter how tought they speak. Loki? Naw, hes just an minor inconviniance. The main character, Thor, should come as hot headed excentric, that just wants action, but hes all meh, and when the finaly "change to the better" of his character occurs, you cant tell the difference - ok, he doesnt want to wipe out frost giants now, but the change is so sudden and unprovoked that you miss the whole character development. This movie is the sample of two movies in one. On one Hand, you get Valhalla and Loki, where all the story and fun seem to happen. Cut to the Earth and we see Thor doing something unrelated and being bland. Back to Valhalla, Loki does something interresting and story goes on. Back to earh, Thor does something Bland and uninterresting and so on and so forth, you get the hint. This is the weakest of bunch - Story is bland and forgettable, Action is goofy and i swear that Thor rotates that hammer for ten minutes in the whole movie length....woop woop woop woop woop...
So, in the end, ill watch Avengers only to see moar of Tony Stark, until then, ill try watching some of the lost childhood memories and classic movies - liek marx brothers...or highlander...wait, not highlander, saw it and it sucked, fucking Lambert... But on related note, i also finaly watched the Wolfman from 2010 as well as both Halloween movies by rob zombie, and i wholeheardetly tell ya to give em a shot...they arent as bad as everyone makes em to be ;3
In other news, my comic is going well and i mpiled up 20 Pages that only need linearting, since you lil' rascals asked for dat, but due to my tight scheduall, it will take tiem before i finally sit down and do the damn work...and the commissions...and the test round for Narthena RPG... but currently, i just want to draw titties :P

FA+

i wanna see that in the movies...jsut robert could pull that off just so much better than anyone else
im looking forwatrd tot he next sherlock move...cos its dealing with my favorite subjects...the habsburgs ^^
well the habsburg-lorraines...it annoys me sometimes when people just call them simply the habsburgs during the modern age...the house died in the male line after charles, and in the female after maria theresea
bvut kinda figured in austria, and vienna especially, youd hear that name quite a bit...wierd
though i still find it interesting that according to austrian law, royal and noble titles arent allowed, yet you guys pretty much gave a state/imperialesque funeral to otto von habsburg ealier in the year...though it did draw in alot of the forementioned annoyances (ie tourists)
ive noticied the japanese tend to actually want to know about the history of artifacts, and such (remebner when i went th national gallery last time i was in london, this group of japanese school kids on a trip over, seemed to know more about the paintings han the people working there x3), whereas alot of europeans ans especially the americans, just like gawking at stuff...if its shiny, famous and that, theyll cue and block everyone else just for a 30 second look
i knew serbia had a royal family, and that the main family were descned from a pig famrer, and there was a rival family too...but it does tend to be overshadowed by the habusburgs and ottomans due to their dominence in the area
Seeing that we serbs are mostly orginating from pig farmers, we as also the rest of Balkan never really lived in the whole monarchy and city stuff liek west europeans, so its no wonder the serbian royal family never left an huge impact in the history XD
i agreee most are a bit assholy (namely my french teacher...hes spainish but he demands you talk to him in french even outside the class abnd school...he was also the headmastr so that went well, but there are probaly, soemwhere, faraway, some, few, french who are nice
And btw, thanks for bringing london up, i ought to go back there next year, if only to finaly get moar tiem to snoop around the galleries :D
i really wanna visit the british museum.... for some reason i can never get time to see the dam thing!
one thing about having a empire...get alot of stuff to show for it XD
mind you...comapared with how much the us has "liberated and then stuck in their own museaums" puts us british to shame
though he prefers the uk himself
another place you should visit is the north if you ever get the chance, specially york, richmond and around therein...beautiful country and alot of old stuff to view...wher ei wanan live once i can afford it
As for the movie, I can see it having less appeal to a non-American, yes, but not because of any FOR AMERICA patriotism (which the movie avoids, appropriately to the current state of the comic), rather because the appeal of its retro style, the way it really nails the 1940s America look and feel which isn't going to appeal to everyone in the US, let alone the rest of the world (no I wasn't nearly alive in the forties, it's just a neat feeling).
I feel like Cap has the most complete self-contained story in a single movie out of the bunch; they could never use Cap again and you'd feel like you got the story (albeit with a semi-tragic ending that leaves you wondering how he'll cope with the 21st century), while Iron Man pretty much ended with Stark calling an audience to say HEY GET READY FOR THE SEQUEL CAUSE THERES GONNA BE THE SEQUEL.
As for the villains, well, they're still comic book villains. If anything, a villain that's not over the top would be disappointing.
But yeah, Captain America just screams Patriotism, and i was amazed to find out they avoided to set him fight sum terrorists for lulz and avoided any blantant patriotism throughout the movie, i eaven liked the 1940s america part, but yeah...the movie was just too bland for my taste, but in the end, i didnt asked for 2 hours of my life back as when i watched princes mononoko or however that darn anime was called...
Seriously, she gets pissed, they go to a meeting, next thing you know she's got selective amnesia and it's never mentioned again.
It's like somone was all desperate going "AAHH, this love story has no sense of development at all! We need to add some drama here, people! Throw me the box of ridiculous clichés!"
Seriously, overall, I can't recall EVER seeing a more blatantly two-staged love story in a movie EVER. You could basically summarize the whole thing by saying "They are not in love now they are in love."
