Oh gosh, if I had to list them all, I'd be here forever and a day *^*! (Sob, no one should ever see my harddrive; it's shameful the number of artist folders on there) There's a lot of people I admire from various fandoms and in different media, and from contemporary to the old masters. T-that totally doesn't answer your question aha D:

How long did it take you to build Barley? Definitely looks like you implemented a lot of alternative techniques to give him that super-toony look, while still making him functional to wear!

I started him in February and just worked on him off and on until a big push in August! I couldn't really give an accurate estimate if it was all compressed though; maybe a few weeks?

*laugh* Truth be told, I had intended for him to be just be a really standard costume; something quick and easy to put on at events. I had finished his head first though and decided that it was a bit large on me, which is why I ended up padding the rest of him out! He takes a bit longer to toss on now, but it was a good opportunity to try new things :)

I wanted a more toony suit to help with events attended by our local volunteer mascot group :). (ie. I blame wolever!)

I like the games a bit more I think, especially the online version :). I used to really like the anime too and wouldn't mind watching it again, but it's not too high up on my favorite list anymore!

Fair enough. I only saw the Anime, never played the game. Although my two fave characters were Tiger of the Wind and Pixie.

On myself? Brown/black

On characters, I have a tendency of liking dark-haired or red-haired ones.

Fur colour depends on the patterning usually, but I like blue or more muted colours often :)

If anyone asked you, would you recommend getting a padded suit, or was that an experiment you regret?

I'd certainly recommend it if their character design called for it, or if they wanted a more exaggerated shape to help conceal the human form :) (ie. if they wished to be wholly convincing as a majestic tube beluga )

It's not something I regret doing, and I think it would be a choice dependent on the personal preferences/stamina of the performer :).

Haha.. tube beluga! Naw.. he is and always will be the 'sperm torpedo' to those of us who wear him :P

Stamina? How much hotter is the padding around the legs and arms? Do you think having airspace between your body and the padding is better, or better to have the padding surround you?

*laugh* You need to convince them to order a sperm torped-- err, I mean 'beluga' t-shirt launcher to go with!

It probably does make things a bit warmer, though I haven't performed in an unpadded suit yet and couldn't really say for sure :x. Mine is fairly close fitting and I prefer it over having the airspace, since those tend to feel a lot warmer more quickly.
