hey!
managed to start it today...
so far so good, im gluing one side atm, then working on the next, then i need to cut som more wood, glue that down and BAM it'll be pretty much done and i can stain it. then tomorrow i can install the strings and tune it! the zither itself is bigger than i first antisipated. it's about 14"x12"x1.75" but there is a slant on one side that is 12" the slant is...i dunno how many degrees...well time to go unclamp the first side
okay so that didn't work...
round two! xD gonna clamp each side at the same time and leave it there for an hour and a half, moving the clamps every 30 minutes because i want it to hold better. and yeah...i'll finish it tuesday ish. i may be able to get it done tomorrow but eh... i dunno, not quite sure on how it'll play out.
SO GUESS WHAT MY NEW PLAN IS?!?!?!
im gonna make instruments and write music for those instruments; learn the music, and finally record myself playing them. why don't i do that with the sax? cause...im not good at writing sax solos...maybe i'll record some improv another day but not today or tomorrow or tuesday, thursday, or even friday.... well maybe friday, friday is when i plan to upload the zither music. tuesday (or whenever i get the zither stringed) i'll post pictures. well im quite excited! excited indeed! im gonna have to find or pick up some screw eyes for the strings, i pretty sure i have the required fishing line as strings xD can't decide if i'll leave it as is or paint/stain it. i kinda want to put the wild hunt symbol on it...it'd make no sense since the instrument is traditionally chinese but heck i'll flaunt my very very very very very very very ancient ancestor's culture (my family were once noble frenchmen of normandy, ergo, they were also once the viking clan know as the Normans. sense makes some?) time to go to the garage again. ill update more later. seems no one seems to read but meh maybe they do and don't comment.
