Drama: ignored! (READ or don't be surprised)
Yes, there was a particular journal that set me off, though it is but one of many, so the journal in question isn't particularly remarkable, aside from the fact that it was YET ANOTHER drama journal. So please understand that this is NOT about any one fur, or any one journal. This is about how I will respond to drama of any kind, from here on out.
Effective immediately, anyone I'm watching who posts a journal that tears down another fur, I'm going to un-watch them. I'm not going to block them, and I'm not going to call anyone out, either by name OR implication. I will have a FEW exceptions to my un-watching rule, mainly those who I consider close friends. Even with those, however, I will likely send them a note, discouraging these kind of posts. I may overlook posts where there's an insignificant bit of drama, or if it comes off as simply joking sarcasm or somesuch. Blatant name-calling or similar derogatory comments will be unlikely to be skipped, however.
I've finally realized that there's no way I can get anyone to stop talking about anyone else, because drama is a lot like fire. But like fire, take away the oxygen, and it ends pretty quick. So I'm simply going to stop paying attention to those who talk bad about those I care about, and focus instead on my friends, and things I'm interested in.
My basic policy from here on out is,
1) "If you're badmouthing my friends, I don't want to hear it." and
2) "If you're a friend of mine, badmouthing anyone else, don't ask my opinion. You don't want it."
Depending on who you are, I MAY give warnings before un-watching. But don't count on it. I can't STOP the drama, but I can dam well stop LISTENING to it!
