Tonight I figured out that my grandmother had recently had surgery.
Over Facebook...
In an instant message...
Is communicating with family so hard that no one can text me and say the following?
"Hey, Grandma's going in for surgery on [date] for [issue], she'll be at [hospital]."
Apparently, because while my sister's ex (a longterm friend of mine) knew about this, I didn't hear a damned thing until a WEEK after the surgery itself.
It bothers me most that no one even THOUGHT to inform me of this, it was assumed that I somehow knew. Hold on, let me consult the magical leprechaun who lives up my ass, maybe he knows... Nope, no one told him either. -.-

What happens when even bigger news comes along?
"By the way, [someone] died. We had the funeral 4 days ago, but we thought it was common knowledge."
