What's the deal with Solatorobo?

Once again I've escaped from Psymon long enough to write some stuff...
Ignoring the furry aspect of the game I'm curious as to why so many people on FA are making such a big deal about getting a copy of it.
I bought a copy last night, it is fun but nothing to go ballistic over. Was it originally not gonna be released outside of Japan? Were only a limited number of copies released? Is it an ultra rare title?
I would seriously like to know because I am quite confused by the way people are acting towards it.

Too bad it's insultingly easy.
BTW... Xseed needs to bring some more copies to any stores, so they can have good sales. If not, that makes "No Export For You"...
The best thing to do is to call Gamestop, it's kinda helpful.
