That's the problem with some athiests. I shall emphasize on SOME a second time since there's people who'll have a problem with this statement for lack of reading...

The beef is that SOME of them automatically shoot down and ridicule whatever religion is being believed, preached, whatever the case may be. This is very flawed.

I, myself, don't follow any religions or any strict sets of beliefs except for my own. And my own are that I shouldn't have to fear a heaven or hell to wish to be a good person with good morals. I don't agree with religion or any organization of beliefs and disagree with lists and lists of reasons. HOWEVER, I don't go out of my way to say they're all flawed, F'd up, people who believe in God, Alla, Jesus, Oscar the Grouch are stupid. That's ignorance.

I feel, believe what you want to believe -- should someone approach you trying to pass their beliefs onto you, kindly decline. If they're persistent, trying to force their beliefs down your throat then say what you must to get them out of your face if you're too good to just ignore them. But don't be a bully, it's not cool.

This Atheist guy sounds like a prick with some kind of complex. It is possible he has religion complex, and issue if you will with other religions because they may have (in his mind) wronged him in some way. Course he could also be one of those people that takes their religion too seriously and too literally and tries to shove it down everyone's throat. (Religion is like a penis, it's great that you have one just don't flail it about in public.)

However not everyone is like that. I see past a person's religion and see them for who they are. a great person with a lovely personality. I suppose I'm optimistic.

I feel ya! I have a REALLY bigoted atheist in my class. But I also have an atheist friend, and he's not bigoted at all. In fact, his boyfriend is an episcopalian (which is a type of christanity).
