Hate Paypal? Try this!

Apparently American Express has decided that Paypal has been monopolizing the online transaction world for long enough, and they started their own service called "Serve".
http://www.serve.com
It looks a lot like Paypal. They have fees similar to Paypal. You can hook it up to a bank or credit card, like Paypal.
So how is it NOT like Paypal?
They allow adult stuff. As a matter of fact, the main restriction they place is whatever you sell has to be legal. (So beastie and kiddie porn, right out, but I never did that anyways.)
Oh yeah, and if you sign up now, they give you $10.
You heard me. Get PAID to ditch Paypal. That's enough money to buy a new icon of yourself flipping Paypal the bird!
I'll be checking it out more when I get home, and I suggest you do the same, but if it turns out to
be good, totally spread the word, and tell your favorite artists so they can start using it too!
EDIT: Got questions? Ask them directly to Serve by tweeting Serve - because I don't have all the answers and I'm having to look it up online. Or look it up yourself! I'm working right now!!!

EDIT #2: Forgot to mention: "One of the things you forgot to mention (and one of the things I kinda sorta love about it) is the physical card. It can 1, be used at anywhere AmEx is accepted, and is linked directly to your online account (which you can access at any time through their website OR through their app, which is available for iphone, android AND windows phones), and 2, functions as a "bank" debit card. Don't wanna fish around for places that take AmEx? Head to an ATM and take the money out! They let you do this once a month for free, then there's a 2 dollar charge every time afterwards (which is totally acceptable, they ARE a business after all).
This in and of itself is perfect for artists around these parts. They do have a monthly limit of $2500 in withdrawals, but very few artists around here make enough scrap from their art for that to be an issue."
Thank you

They just won't learn.

I had an American Express for small business card until last year when the card fees went up
Why won't you believe this?
So, we're the 51st state as far as their concerned
>_>
<_<
TO MEXICO!!!
Looks to me that Amex is serious about cardholders outside the US.
And TYVM for the news about this card! I've already sent a note to someone who needed this info.
i know so many sites now have a paypal button on it, i dont know how itd work with other things coming out
Well so much for that...
Also, what Ritts said, who even accepts this?
So they snail mail you a card, and they didn't add ten dollars to my account at all. Do they add it after you activate the card?

Competition is always good though. I wish youtube, google, and world of warcraft would get some real competitors. =P
I vote for human extinction. including me. ^^ http://www.vhemt.org/
But yeah, that's pretty lawl-awful. thanks for the link. :3
Well, let's hope the best for the future, I'm still pessimistic about finding a great alternative to Paypal so far, but nya, not giving up here.

lol. Let us know how it goes ksharra. I'm quite iffy lately about paypal, considering all the crap going on.
Good to keep an eye on though, thanks.
