I really do hope the plans for art school do work-out. I just need to tell myself when I have enough skill behind me to actually apply. The problem that I believe I may have, is when I will get enough experience or not enough.

Ohh yeah, it's exciting to see my mate! I only see him currently about three or four times in a year. Every moment with him is win.

Indeed! But I do need to update too. I have a new TV set now so my "crappy monitor" excuse not to do art is out the window. I work tech support for the Kindle at Amazon so..things are kinda hectic at this time of year. But I do want to really nail down art and be.. good, you know? Like to the point where I could give a friend a drawing and they're like "Holy hell!! Thank you thank you thank you" type reaction hehe. Confidence in my lineart is well, lacking ;) But I'll have some stuff up soon though. It's progressing now.

I'm not sure which art school you are planning to attend but uuuusually they start you off at the basics. You may consider asking about auditing a class or two or if they allow any sitins so you can just kinda get a feel for the class to see if you are comfortable going just yet.

Oh yeah :s Amazon anything is crazy this time of year, and I didn't help it at all *ordered a bunch of stuff on it.*

What I have been doing to learn, is starting with the basics, and by basics.. I mean, drawing cubes and other basic geometric objects. Everything is composed out of basic objects and well, if you try drawing them from life, you will find that everything else you draw will improve vastly. I am documenting what I am doing to start learning, so if I do get to a point, i think I will gladly share what I did.

I am looking at LAAFA mainly, but a few others as well. Really am taking into consideration where my mate wants to be as well, as he does matter to me.. and I rather not have him in a spot that doesn't work-out well for him.

*laughs* I will try to walk, but I am more-than-certain he will simply be having too much fun with me to even allow me to do such!

More-than-likely, I will have something to post in a few weeks. Might post up something tomorrow night as well, but will be tossing it into scraps without regard.

It's all good. I'm grateful I don't work retail chat support. Whew...nearly non stop.. at least in Kindle I have some time between chats.. for now. After christmas is usually when we get hammered. Everyone's opening up Kindles and either not knowing what to do or messing things up or buying things on accident. lol But yeah you're on the right track. I honestly should work more on the basic shapes. I learned from my brief study in 3D that anything can be made of up triangles... just need to vary the size as needed.. but I can't draw a straight line if my life depended on it. though my issue seems to be very much about proportions. I'll have to get something up in scraps and show you sometime soon.

But I'll keep an eye out for your scrap as well. I'm very interested in seeing how you are coming along. :) And I definitely understand wanting to ensure things with your schooling work out with your mate as well. Sadly that wasn't the case in my last relationship but there were other factors as well in his decision. I'll keep an eye out for your posting tho! You just seem like such a nice person and I wish you all the best in your dreams and efforts. Besides your character has a fun design too so maybe when I'm more confident in my art I'll take a stab at drawing him. My shading however isn't too shabby. Gah.. now I gotta do art. :P

Well, triangles.. sure, but try to show me how an entire face is made out of triangles and I'll give you an expression! Curious though, do you draw with your hand and wrist? and don't worry about not being able to draw an exact straight line.. sometimes perfect lines (most of the time) can give the feeling of no emotion.

If I did get a game going, it would be on the Virtual Tabletop. It makes things much simpler. Then again, 5th Ed Playtesting is coming up in 1 month, so I may do that for a short bit. All the rules, etc. will be posted and so no need to snag any large reading material.
