My Point of View of Digitigrade
I am fascinated with Digitigrade furries. Just the ideas of having legs like that astounds me. One could travel so much faster and swifter if one were a digitigrade, not a plantigrade!
I admit I even started walking around Digitigrade when I was barefoot. It never hurt when I walked or ran, and I even noticed some interesting prints I'd leave behind on wet ground.
But then one downside got me and my characters: stairs!
A fur can merely glide up a set of any stairs, maybe even skip a few steps if it wished. But as for going down... If the steps were short enough, or steep enough, the heel would catch, and send the poor critter flat on it's back and sliding down. I won't go into detail of how painful it was to me when it happened! ;)
Still, I'm still astounded of why we humans aren't digitigrades, our fitness would be different, we could travel better, faster, longer, even more smoothly!
Good lord, listen to me geek out. :3
