Now Taking Custom Decal Commissions!
Just a few weeks ago I bought myself a vinyl cutter. I'm starting to run out decals to make for myself, and so I've decided to start doing custom decal commissions. If you're interested drop me a note with what you'd like, or better yet an image you'd like made into a decal. My rates aren't set in stone, but to get a general idea here's roughly how I figure prices:
Sizing:
Basically I go dollar to inch for the largest dimension of the decal.
3 inch = $3
6 inch = $6, etc.
Colors:
Each additional color adds 50% to the base cost.
3 inch 2 colors = $4.50
6 inch 3 colors = $12 (base price $6 + $3 second color + $3 third color)
Currently available colors (now more available! ):
Regular, gloss colors
-black
-white
-light gray
-medium gray
-brown
-pink
-red
-maroon
-orange
-light yellow
-yellow (like a traffic sign yellow)
-bright yellow
-ice blue
-blue
-medium blue (very slight hint of purple)
-navy blue
-lavandar
-purple
-teal
-mint green
-lime green
-green
-dark (forest) green
Special colors (these cost extra)
-silver chrome
-gold chrome
-red chrome
-orange chrome
-blue chrome
-green chrome
-blue chrome
-purple chrome
-imitation carbon fiber
If you've just got to have a decal in a different color other than I have on hand, I'll gladly order vinyl in the color or style you want. I may or may not charge extra to do so, depending on if it will leave me with a lot of seldom used material.
Shipping:
For the obvious reason that this is a real, physical item being created, I'll need to ship the decal(s) to you somehow. USPS is my first choice as I drive by a post office going to work, and as such will be able to get it in transit fastest that way. I've very negotiable if you prefer other methods, or want specific shipping options applied like tracking numbers or want a small decal and feel a letter sized envelope will suffice. For now I'm going to say a flat rate of $2 to offset my costs. Orders of $20 or more will get free shipping.
Payment:
Paypal is the preferred method for me, but if you absolutely can't then I'll hesitantly take cash or check through the mail if you're so inclined.
What I do, what I don't:
Now, just to clarify how the whole process works so you can decide if this will suit your needs. You give me a design or simple picture, and I convert it from a raster image to a vector image. That is, it changes from being made of many little dots to being made of coordinates fixed distances from each other. I then take that converted image and use my vinyl cutter to trace the pictures' outline from a sheet of colored vinyl sheet. The unwanted portions of the cut vinyl are then "weeded" from the rest, and an image is formed. Usually if a decal consists of separate pieces, a medium tack tape called transfer tape is used to remove these pieces from the backing paper and place them on the desired object in the exact same position.
Because I'm forming an image with sections of vinyl, and not printing right on a single piece of vinyl, I can't make some pictures look exactly how they originally look with exact colors and gradients.

Any questions at all regarding vinyl decal commissions are always welcome. Also, I want to emphasize that I'm very negotiable on price. There's a lot of different factors that come into play making these stickers, and I can't cover every imaginable situation that may make a design vary from the estimates listed above.
Anyone interested in a decal commission please send me a note, and we'll talk. I hope to hear from you soon!

Well, I didn't draw the original picture it's derived from, but I converted over to the right format and situated it for cutting.
I tend to be a perfectionist and my own biggest critic, so I always appreciate it when anyone lets me know they like my work.
