Music of the Day: Queen - 'Under Pressure'
Guh... well, whatever.
This week has been shit for me. Outside of class and more crap dealing with classes... it's just been rough dealing with a few personal things.
Also turns out that my friend Stef will most likely be going to another college next year, which will suck... a lot. I really do like her.. she's so nice to talk to.
In other news, of course, things have been really weird around people.
I mean, yeah... I understand yesterday was Valentines Day, but holy shit, guys! Don't get so fuckin' stressed! At least you guys get to go home and see your significant other in two and a half weeks...
... my boyfriend happens to be 1200 miles away from me right now.
*sighs* Meh... still feel kinda bad not being able to get him anything.
---
In retrospect, I thought to myself this morning. I guess I understand why my parents and people get so pissed off at me for being lackadaisical... but it's really just how I cope with things. Sometimes just a little distraction can be the difference between being happy and depression.
Also... I've been thinking about something my mom said before I went back to college.
She said that I'd probably not ever tell her if I were to be dating someone.
Of course, this is a rather true statement in a way, but it hurt in a way. I don't even really know how to think about it.
It's harder to understand when you can't be sure just what you parents see in you, or even what they believe.
... trust me, trying to tell them that yes, you have a boyfriend and have been trying to figure out how to get with him for quite some time (two years, has it been?) is.... awkward.
I mean, yeah, it's a weird thing to talk to your parents about romantic interests and all... but jeez, people. It's bad enough being gay and not being able to even really talk about it in the family.. please don't pressure me with that stuff.
Soundtrack:
Queen - Under Pressure
Peter Schilling - Major Tom
Corey Hart - Sunglasses At Night
Gigi D'Agostino - The Riddle

I understand about the parents thingie. They still don't approve of me being with Michael. It's bad enough when my grandpa always asks "so how are the ladies treating you?" EVERY family gathering, and I have to just smile and say something generic to get the attention off of me. Whee.

OP
I just hope word doesn't reach my extended family. We barely keep in contact with them, but.... yeah.

My parents don't believe I'm bi. They think it's just a phase.
