Ok, here is the thing, I work for a relatively small company that is landing some pretty big contracts. Almost of all of them are as third party's to a larger multinational who frankly can not do the work themselves.

I have no problems with this after all this is how companies are supposed to operate coming together in the mutual per-suite of money.

What I do have a problem with is the stupidity of some of the procedures.

Take today's incident.

I had to take ownership of a bit of a mess of a call. the company that we answer to asked me to talk direct to the end user to resolve the issue. Not a problem off I went and after a lot of poking around figured out the problem and fixed for the customer Horray! every body happy.

My last email was to the customer asking if they could set the call to completed.

a little latter I received an email from the umbrella company or more correctly a department of that umbrella company it read along the lines of:

"Please note ALL communications to the customer are to come through us all chases and progression of calls are to be through us."

now. this department plays no part what so ever in resolving the issue or assisting in changes there only job is to forward emails between us the customer and presumably other departments in the multicorp and that's it. they do not even read what we put into the emails and in times past when we have questioned them they have said flatly they are not technical. there only purpose is to forward emails...

I almost responded with the following email, almost but not as sadly I have rather more tact and professionalism at work and I am mealy using this site as a medium to vent my rage. any how the email would have read thus:

"Dear pointless layer of bureaucracy

It is not my job to justify your existence as a meat based outlook rule. Kindly go away and do something more productive with your life other then forwarding emails. "

this really does justify me reasons for being in furry. it is the escapism from situations like this to the fun of furry. Bring on the floofy tails and big paws and please let me forget the simple minded layers of middle management.
