Had to force myself to write today. Feeling suuuuper lazy.
Some cool stuff happened the past couple days. As if an answer to my ego's cry for help, an older guy at the bare tipped me an outrageous amount ($34 on $31) to which I checked to see if he was making a mistake (damned honesty). When I asked him he said “It's yours, you have a good voice.” Apparently he heard me singing along at the bar (I do pretty much constantly) and approved! He turned out to be the father of our newest member of the piano players, so the compliment was especially nice!
In another slight ego boost, me and a couple of the other staff members hopped up on the back bar to dance to one of the songs that has a dance to go along with it (as we do on occasion, used to waaaaay more often back in the day). Most times this goes over okay but this time the entire group around the back back area (20-30+ people) went nuts! They were totally cheering and soon were dancing too. Lots of fun!
I really wish the bar had more of that old spirit. Back in the day we used to get up and dance several times a night. It just seems that the place is getting more mundane sometimes (though the music is still excellent).
I'm still searching for another job though, which sucks. As much as I loathe certain aspects of the job (the amount of money I tend to make for instance), I just worry that I'll never find a place that will be able to hold my interest. When I think of the dull monotony of food service compared to working at the bar I can't help but imagine I'll go completely stir crazy. I don't want another job. I just want this job to be better.
I don't have a lot planned for tomorrow. I endeavor to put out another short story then.
