Depends on the person! I'm a very reserved person, so the people that I do get to know are usually the social ones or buddies of social ones. From there, I can tell whether or not they're someone to steer clear of, or someone that's worth getting to know. It helps that I tend to mimic the personalities of people around me (p.much everyone does this, and I may be biased but I think I do it more than most) - so if someone's being all friendly and open with me, I tend to do the same!
I am protected, even though the only stairs I have is a step down to my garage.
SOCKS socksocksocskc *eeee's happily* My otrcharacter developed an affinity for socks somewhere along the line, and the artist :usernameLizeh: knew this and made it for me ^____^ IRL, I'm no more particular about my socks than any other thing, really (must cover the ankle, must be mainly cotton, must be bought in bulk so I don't have to have ten piles of socklaundry to sort)
Whoa, this suddenly took a turn for the introspective. In short, even my beliefs need to be practical - if they don't come up often, I don't spend time thinking about it. They rarely come up in conversation, but one of the things I'm writing is basically "These are my views on life and the logic behind them - tell me if I'm wrong" type thing. If science benefits from peer review, why not my morals?
If you want a few examples of beliefs, I guess I could say that I wish people thought about the long-term consequences more often (how many fewer straws would be in landfills if everyone decided to drink from the cup etc), what EXACTLY makes things "gross" or otherwise distasteful, and about how you can't win every lottery (something like 1/20 chance to be born into a first world country, never mind the fact most people can get up and walk, don't have to worry about food, aren't in immediate danger of dying, etc - yet get sad when they don't have money to immediately buy something, that they're not the a better artist/student/whatever, etc etc etceteetcet. )
Are there stairs in your house?
Why do ye appear to be biting a sock?
Do you have any closely held beliefs that are important to you but that pretty much never come up in conversation or practice?
