just a rant about marriage
Today marriage is considered a 'holy' union between men and woman. That just makes me laugh my ass off and here is why:
at first marriage was possibly maybe about love, but it was most likely just a man asking a father for the hand of the woman he liked and the woman had no say. Lot of love in that right? Also that was going on I believe around the same time as prearranged marriage, you know where the parents would pick out who you would marry before you could even talk? Well what about when marriage was just used to get one family more power in the world by marriage of their child to a child of higher stature. I still don't quite see how love and god is involved with that. I think it was a while before love really became a basis of marriage since love would be when both people have feelings for the other. Though I fail to see how god had any part in marriage, hell with how often I hear of it being for financial gain I think that past marriage would have been a sin since by definition it would be greed to marry someone of higher stature. Isn't greed one of the seven deadly sins?
So why are all these people saying that marriage is about love when love only became a honest factor in more recent times? I still can't even wrap my head around how god plays apart in it. If marriage is really suppose to be for lovers then why just between a man and a woman? Why not a man and another man or a woman and another woman.
When marriage is honestly about love, then that will mean that in every state, every country that a man can marry another man or a woman can marry another woman.
I'm done with my rant now.

it hasn't been a 'holy' union since certain celebrities can get married, divorced, and have it annulled in the span of a weekend. or spend 10 million on a wedding followed by a divorce after 72 days
