What to do with black and whites?

I'm trying to decide what to do now with black and white sketches. Do I post them or not?
On the one hand, I like to show a color piece that nobody has seen at all before. Posting the black and white version of it first kindof spoils the surprise. It also dilutes my gallery with yet more black and whites. I'm trying to transition to color fully.
But on the other hand, there are sketches that may never be colored. Maybe they're doodles or convention sketches in other people's sketchbooks. Maybe I shouldn't post them to avoid diluting the quality of my gallery. Or maybe just put them in scraps with the rest of my junk.
At the moment, I have a sketch that I did in Blackberry's sketchbook that I'm considering whether I'll color or not. I haven't really drawn in a long time, so it's not the greatest. I'm not sure if I'll color it. If I put it up as a black and white, I'll be less inclined to color it since everyone will have seen it already. But I may never color it anyway. I don't know.
I guess I'm kindof caught between the idea of just putting up any old thing on my gallery and churning out junk but more of it. Or trying to maintain a level of quality and concentrating on posting good stuff only (at least, as good as I can make it).
I feel embarassed to post something that isn't my best work, you know?

i think i'd say if you do plan to color something, it's probably not a bad idea to wait and post the colored version, save maybe showing it to the owner of a character for anatomical reasons
You could make a deal with yourself that if you've gone X amount of time without coloring a piece, you just post the B&W version as well. A week, a month, however long. :) I know I certainly don't mind getting multiple versions of a piece.
I guess you could just upload the ones you don't intend to color just so that we can see them in some form, and hold off on the colored ones until they're actually colored? Though I imagine it might be hard to predict which ones will end up being completed....
It may not be much of a complete surprise if you post the black and whites. but at least when the colour versions are posted they will be different. and perhaps 'beter'
If you decide to post the black and whites though, you could just get another account maybe, and put all you uncoloured work on that, and your colour work here. so viewing the origional works is optional :3
Black and white pictures are sometimes better than their colourful counterparts; Some of the best pictures in the world were made with black and white, and remained uncoloured to keep their natural beauty.
To me the black and white sketches/inks represent most the spirit of a picture. I know when I post my own stuff I prefer coloring it as a way to finish it, but when I'm looking at other people's work I'm usually looking at the idea, shapes, poses and motion in the picture rather than the colors.
Most of all, post them. I like your work and want to see more. :P
I'd vote for posting it; seeing it in B & W is great by itself, and then seeing the color version adds a whole other level to it... kind of like getting drive a nice stang, and then upgrading to something even better. It's up to you, though:)
Also, you don't need to feel embarrassed about posting works you don't think are your best. The thing about art is that even if you hate something, a lot of people will still like it. There's a lot more to pictures than what they look like, you know. ;)
- If I intend to color a sketch, I'll wait and post only the finished color.
- If I don't intend to color a sketch, I'll post it to scraps.
My gallery is going to be pretty much color only from now on.
