Hulu?
Had an unexpected project fall in my lap earlier this month. I had planned to take a bit of a hiatus from commercial work and work on my own things but I'd have been dumb to pass this up. What it has meant though is Ive just had my nose in the grindstone all month. While I usually listen to music to work, sometimes I need something meatier to keep the logical side of my brain entertained enough so it doesn't have me wandering around the house dusting everything in spontaneous bursts of procrastination. So I've been watching Hulu plus while working. Only I don't really know what to watch!
So what series would you guys recommend? Any genre is okies C:...just need things to watch while working!

FA+

I don't think hulu has it, but also check out Red Dwarf. It's a sci-fi comedy. =]
I don't know if you watch The Big Bang Theory, but Red Dwarf was mentioned. Sheldon held up the boxed set. I was surprised to see the show mentioned.
It's... God, it's an obsession. I have a little white H that I cut out of printer paper with a pen, I occasionally put it on and have a Hologram Day.
but if you want movies, 80's classics are something I enjoy, Ferris Beuller, the Goonies, Lost Boys...
Also, underrated animated films that you haven't seen in a while are always good as an external stimulus due to the vivid colors, stylization, over-the-top voice acting and catchy music.
It's worth than regular TV in many aspects. You can do better. ^^
It's not enough they DELETE movies from their databases because they can't hang on to a publishing and distributor contract to save their necks, no. Then the whole deal with raising our prices, while adding more services - only to back-off, not offer the services and STILL make us pay more.
Netflix is one service I won't be sad to see fail. ^^
Sure we have DVR, and it's a nice feature with Start Over and rewind/pause features, but is it really worth it? Sadly satellite TV doesn't have this option, or we'd be Direct TVing by now. ^^
can't do a little cuz he can't do ENOUGH! lol!
that show scared the hell out of me when I was little, that creepy eyeless flute in Jimmy's pocket just was .. Blreagh!
..Johnny Quest?
Recent series?
The Wire. The Shield, Mad Men, Dexter,
on BBC
Sherlock Holmes, Dr, Who, Inspector Morse.
im waiting for them to get with the program and put bbc sherlock in there uAu'
Spy is a British comedy show that I find to be pretty hilarious. It's pretty short, though, and only one season so far.
Misfits is a great show--although it has nudity and plenty of violence and bizarre humor. Definitely not for everyone...
Vampire Prosecutor, K-drama, don't dismiss it based on the name. It's not a comedy and is actually a pretty serious story.
The Duo, K-drama.
Blue Exorcist (although it deviates from the manga's story). Anime.
Tiger & Bunny (if you haven't seen it). Anime.
Fractale (anime).
Hulu also has various nature documentaries of interest...
The good side is, since it's not overly dense you can watch while working AND you can search online for how the series was supposed to end. The author told the story to a fan so we could all have closure.
The other series I'm currently watching is Once upon a time. Being a fan of the comic Fables, this one got me hooked. The story in the modern world is not all that great (at least thus far) but I do love the flashbacks in which they explain how each character turned out to be the character we all know and love.
And there ya have my 2 cents.
Some suggestions:
The Event - Scifi about aliens living among us
Combat Hospital - Military hospital in Kandahar
Charlie Jade - Alternate realities
Mongrels - Furry puppets
Picket Fences - Night time quirky soap
Ultraviolet - Vampires
The Dead Zone - TV series based on the movie
John Doe - Mystery man who knows everything except who he is. Only one season was made though.
The Pretender - Another mystery man
Misfits - English slackers get super powers
Journeyman - Time traveling reporter
My Own Worst Enemy - A man find out he is actually a spy who has two personalities
The Dresden Files Magic using private detective. One I wish would have lasted longer.
The Mercury Men - Retro style B&W sci fi about alien invaders.
American Gothic - Small town sheriff who may be the devil
Wire in the Blood - Really good UK show about an investigator of serial killers
Apparitions - Extremely Catholic show about a priest investigating the paranormal
The Last Enemy - UK series about the expansion of the surveillance state
I like most things that aren't "reality" shows but mostly scifi.
Try and ignore the Australian accents on the supporting cast though.
What sort of things are you into?
Doctor Who, too, if they have it--it's harder to pick up than a lot of shows, though, because of the crapton of detailed backstory.
Last Exile
And yeah we just downloaded season 2 of Downton Abbey and are watching that...one right after the other >_> I love it. So full of upper class and lower class drama, keeps it interesting.
