I liked Homeland as the TV show.

Warrior Baek Dong Soo! It's is AMAZING! Beautifully shot, captivating story, plenty of humor and cool fight scenes.

I don't think hulu has it, but also check out Red Dwarf. It's a sci-fi comedy. =]

I don't know if you watch The Big Bang Theory, but Red Dwarf was mentioned. Sheldon held up the boxed set. I was surprised to see the show mentioned.

I watched Red Dwarf years and years ago and used to be obsessed with it to the point that my windows 98 desktop/colors were all customized to Red Dwarf....also used soundclips from the show for all the system sounds hurr B:.and my computers are still occasionally named Talkie Toaster (patent pending).

Adventure time is cool

but if you want movies, 80's classics are something I enjoy, Ferris Beuller, the Goonies, Lost Boys...
Also, underrated animated films that you haven't seen in a while are always good as an external stimulus due to the vivid colors, stylization, over-the-top voice acting and catchy music.

Mongrels is pretty offensive, but is hilarious and kind of furry. It's like 'Greg the Bunny'

maybe so but it's cheaper than cable and I can watch what I want so I'm not really complaining. I expected it would head in that direction, it was really just a matter of waiting for it to happen ;P. I'm actually genuinely surprised Netflix hasn't found a way to tack on commercials yet ;D!

Actually...when we log into Netflix from home on our Wii console, we get an option called "Recommended for you", which is almost always way off base. These people think they can read minds now.

It's not enough they DELETE movies from their databases because they can't hang on to a publishing and distributor contract to save their necks, no. Then the whole deal with raising our prices, while adding more services - only to back-off, not offer the services and STILL make us pay more.

Netflix is one service I won't be sad to see fail. ^^

I personally like the recommendations. Sometimes I don't know what to watch and from time to time one of the suggestions isn't bad! Also as far as raised prices and cut services, to play devil's advocate that's business. Now Im not saying I agree with Netflix's business practices in all respects (for example the fact that there is no way to submit feedback or criticism to Netflix short of phoning in...which makes it feel as though Netflix arbitrarily imposes changes without considering what their paying members would actually want to see changed). But as far as cutting content, as Netflix has grown exponentially in size, so has the cost of retaining licenses for all these shows and movies. Studios know they can charge Netflix now for the license as it is now a large shareholder. So of course it is far more expensive to keep Netflix going now than it used to be..can't blame them for circulating content in and out. It's still far better than the alternative of paying 70-100$ for cable television with which I can't even choose what I want to watch or when I want to watch unless I have a dvr or the limited on demand catalogue various service providers offer.

Oh the cable bills are the worst. Together with our internet, we have to pay 150 a month.

Sure we have DVR, and it's a nice feature with Start Over and rewind/pause features, but is it really worth it? Sadly satellite TV doesn't have this option, or we'd be Direct TVing by now. ^^

It actually has less ads than TV. Sure, you can't skip them, but I'd rather have to sit through two ads (which gives me a small break to check twitter/etc.) than have to sit through the 4-6 minutes of ads on live TV.

I agree. A handful of 30 second commercials is much better than watching a handful of several minute commercials on TV.

well to that, I wouldn't be surprised to see the number of commercials continue to climb..it has since the inception of Hulu. I don't mind so much, but maybe because I grew up with tv commercials as being part of the 'tv experience'

I watch Netflix all the time myself but mom is about to subscribe to bulk plus as well. I usually watch stud like ice road truckers, dual survial, survived man, king of the hill, scrubs, and other such mindless shows.

OH I know, it's TERRIBLE acting, goofy story lines, but but.;. HR!! *PUFFIN*... *STUFF*.. the big baggy eyed lizard that can't do a little *STUFF* cuz he can't do enough *STUFF* that he likes to PUFF! lol! It's a stoner lizard, I watch it and just crack up every time. :)

The only series I've really watched on Hulu are Tiger & Bunny and Misfits.

How i met your mother is pretty funny

Moribito (anime) is pretty interesting but Hulu only has it in English dub. Don't know if you consider that a plus or not.
Spy is a British comedy show that I find to be pretty hilarious. It's pretty short, though, and only one season so far.
Misfits is a great show--although it has nudity and plenty of violence and bizarre humor. Definitely not for everyone...
Vampire Prosecutor, K-drama, don't dismiss it based on the name. It's not a comedy and is actually a pretty serious story.
The Duo, K-drama.
Blue Exorcist (although it deviates from the manga's story). Anime.
Tiger & Bunny (if you haven't seen it). Anime.
Fractale (anime).

Hulu also has various nature documentaries of interest...

The last series I've watched was Defying gravity, it's not a master piece but it does trigger curiosity in the science fiction lovers. The down side is, there's only 13 episodes of it so they didn't develop the story to a conclusion.
The good side is, since it's not overly dense you can watch while working AND you can search online for how the series was supposed to end. The author told the story to a fan so we could all have closure.

The other series I'm currently watching is Once upon a time. Being a fan of the comic Fables, this one got me hooked. The story in the modern world is not all that great (at least thus far) but I do love the flashbacks in which they explain how each character turned out to be the character we all know and love.

It's hard to find things on Hulu that are available from the beginning. Basically shows that were canceled. :-|

I like most things that aren't "reality" shows but mostly scifi.

If you're looking for humor, definitely check out Wilfred. Because, well, who doesn't like a pseudo-fursuiter-delusion that convinces a suicidal Elijah Wood to do stupid stuff?!

I'll enter Farscape. Its an odd sci fi from the early 2000s. Astronaut gets slung through a wormhole and ends p on a bioship with a mixed bag alien crew.

Try and ignore the Australian accents on the supporting cast though.

I don't know if its on Hulu (I use Netflix instead), but we've been watching the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series - and enjoying it far more than we probably should. haha.

Their version of the National Geographic Channel has a lot of good stuff. They also have NOVA.

Don't know if it's on Hulu (can't enter it from outside the US :| ), but I really enjoyed the Avatar: The last airbender series. I'm normally not a fan of animes, but probably one can't even consider this one anime since it is a US production. It really struck me with a wonderful story, which (opposing to most animes) has a proper end and doesn't just go on and on.

Seconding Wilfred and BBC Sherlock, all the way.

Doctor Who, too, if they have it--it's harder to pick up than a lot of shows, though, because of the crapton of detailed backstory.

I've been watching Frasier @___@ Not on Hulu. On Netflix.

FRASIERRRRR..I will admit I have a softspot for sitcoms... I think more out of nostalgia than actually liking the shows persay. For the same reason I think I don't mind the commercials on hulu ;D!

Frasier is actually pretty good. I mean, as far as sitcoms go. Also Star Trek. Keeps me entertained for hours.

It's not Hulu but have you watched Downton Abbey on Netflix? >_> It's my new favorite show. Jeff's gotten sucked into it too. Only downside is there's only 7 eps on Netflix in the 1st season but each ep is about an hour long. The 2nd season you can grab online, but I think you'll like it, if anything for the costuming and Maggie Smith! :D

Just had to say thank you..checked it out yesterday and ate through all but one episode :C!!! The characters really make this show..and I like the subtlety of whole show..and yet it is not boring. Thank you for the recommend...now I feel like a crack addict getting dangerously close to withdrawal!
