Someone stuck a stopper on my creativity and I'm having a little bit of trouble uncorking it again. Specifically when it comes to drawing myself. I can't settle on a singular design, I always tweak and nudge, pull, prod, poke, change things and I don't have a concrete look. Or still amn't anywhere near it. I thought I caught it recently but there's just something that's not letting me draw myself without it looking ARGHAWFUL, and that's when I force myself to sit down and draw myself to the end. Which is rare, to be honest.
So I ask you lot, especially artists/writers, do you've any tips on helping creativity flow? This blockage is sorta like a too-tight collar on an uncomfortable shirt, and I want rid of it...

1. Different sources of inspiration. This includes:
- Music
- Movies
- Games
- TV shows
- Comics
- Books
- World around you
- Internet
2. Avoid unnecessary things. These things includes:
- Forcing yourself to draw something (this just makes you overthink too much and you can't get a solid idea at all)
- Stressing yourself
- Putting a deadline
- Overly concentrating upon things you find either wrong or not done right (if you spend too much time on solving these, you'll eventually feel like tossing the pencils against the other wall.)
3. Freedom. And what I mean is:
- Draw it if you feel like you should draw it.
- Don't draw it for anyone else...admittedly, you're drawing for yourself - so draw something for you.
- Give it a try if you are wondering of a theme rolling in your head and "wether or not you should try it" (who knows if it is actually fun?)
- Creativity is like a play - and that is fun
- Have fun.
Only thing I might add, is if you feel you're tweaking your character indefinitely, figure out what traits/facets of him/her you like, and which of those further break down into ones that complement each other. If all else has failed, there's something to be said for methodical precision, in its time and place.
