I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, but there is an old adage about killing the messenger --even if that messenger is blameless. Whenever there is bad news to be delivered, there is always the possibility that the messenger will get the blame, therefore the messenger must weigh his/her options carefully before proceeding.

AND this presupposes the messenger has the recipient's best interests at heart. I've been around a long time and I am frequently flummoxed by what people do and why they do it, in furdom or out of it.

That is a good point. I've had moments where I told someone something that I wasn't sure if the person in question should receive my words yet, and yet they gave it in a way that caused more trouble than comfort. I usually play it safe and never relay information unless I have full comformation that it's safe to deliver, but still, it's really sad how one wrong word can completely change the outcome of a truth, even if the message is the same. Luckily, I know how to talk my way out of those situations usually, but regardless, it's still painful to know that many people are quick to judge. I do love hearing the words of the wise though.

From what I read from your post, you intended only to help. That can be tricky. Not only in how the information is conveyed, but in the timing. And then there is the state of mind of the recipient... If this person is not prepared to hear bad news, they will take what is told them in the wrong way, regardless of how true it might be.

In other words, if you tell a girl that the boy she's in love with is a gambling addict with a taste for meth, she's going to scream that you're lying unless she already has suspicions along those lines. Love makes people dumb as mud. And the tendency for human self-deception knows no bounds.

Yeah, that's exactly it. It's really sad because it seems like the largest problems come from love, which is supposed to be something beautiful. Words get minced, suspicious come up, and before anyone knows it, the two who are supposed to love each other are fighting worse than they do against thier enemies. Mostly due to presumptions and fear for the fact that they might have over extended themselves. Especially when we factor that the younger generations are getting a completely false interpretation on what true love is and equating it to physical appeal or the concept of being in love for the sake of just "Having a girl/boyfriend" without even liking them as friends. Kind of pathetic how I always have to say, "friend who's a girl" so that people don't assume I'm dating just because I have friends who are girls, because it just seems like lately, you just can't be friends with the opposite gender without it being romantic in some way, and Love's not supposed to be a gimmick.

Actually, there is nothing new in this. The assumption that all male/female relationships are sexual and cannot possibly just be friendly has existed since at least 1900 and probably since the first caveman dragged a girl off by her hair.

Yeah, you're right. I guess it's just human nature in a sense. Still kind of sad that the only species who claims can see more than shades of gray still tends towards everything being black and white. In the very least, there's comfort that some people are able to see the brighter side of ideals, but to me, I guess as long as people aren't willing to change it, the only thing we can really practice is self defense (and help when needed). There's already too much drama in the world without what we're talking about adding another headache.

Still, I do appreciate hearing what you have to say. I mean, I agree with everything you say and it's just so relieving to see that someone else can see what people have done in this world know that humans have many flaws they intentionally exploit to make themselves dominant when it's only hurting everything in the long run. If you have/had a team, I'd LOVE to be part of it as all I really want in the long run is justice and tolerance to win and cruelity, evil and selfishness to die out. Sorry for getting really hyped and philosophical here, but it's just SO nice to see someone agrees with my ideals!
