deepTHINK Inc.

It occurred to me that some of my characters were starting to develop occupations as part of their backgrounds and relationships, so here's a bit on one of those sources of employment.
deepTHINK Incorporated is a "think tank for rent" which specializes in marine research, particularly into environments normally too hostile for "life as we know it". Founded by Flecker Cairns (an irukandji jellyfish mer), it presently employs:
Henrique Caravela (Portuguese Man o'War) - computer technician. As a siphonophore mer, Henrique is technically a number of living creatures bonded indistinguishably into a single aggregate colony. This allows him to look at problems from multiple perspectives... but it also means he's easily distracted. Henrique is rarely seen without sandwiches and wraps poking out of his lab coat, although he does tned to be good about not leaving crumbs everywhere.
Jordan Narinari (spotted eagle ray) - intern. Jordan is usually saddled with answering the phone and keeping track of deliveries of research materials, as well as making sure that the regular staff don't forget to eat during more intensive research.
Kaieneus Thessalia (clione) - zoologist specializing in the pelagic zone. Kaieneus is one of the youngest researchers at deepTHINK, and zir relative lack of expertise is often seen as an excuse by the other staff to treat zir as a gopher despite being a full employee. Despite this, Kaieneus retains surprising good cheer, which ze credits to being happy to be working alongside such brilliant minds under any circumstances.
Kary Mendosa (methane ice worm) - Methane clathrate research specialist. Kary is currently working on the production of a documentary which is discussing the possibility of life on methane clathrate deposits on other planets.
Pliny Campania (pompeii worm) - hydrothermal vent expert. Pliny was the first hire at deepTHINK, and tends to be comfortable in his seniority. He has a bad tendency to take a lack of immediate responsibilities as an excuse for slacking off, although he does make up for it by being incredibly insightful under pressure.
More employees coming as I think them up....
