The crap that people say.
Have you ever stopped and thought about what people actually say? This afternoon I was in my room and merely walked from my desk towards the window and heard this from my dad dowstairs... "Andrew! You'll come through the ceiling in a minute!". What a ludicrous thought, there are things wrong with that...
A) Why would the house have such an obvious structural flaw in a very specific place? Even if it did it would have already happened by now and have little to do with me walking too hard but more to do with crap building standards if the ceiling can't hold the weight of a 240lb grown man.
B) Is this something that randomly happens or has he predicted that it will definatly WILL happen?
C) Has it really come to the point in which a bloke can't walk accross his own bedroom without someone complaining about it?
As you can see it is the same catogory of bullshit as "You'll poke someone's eye out with that" or "It's too cold to snow" or "Eating carrots will help you see in the dark". The middle one in particular is very annoying, people who say that deserve a slap at the back of the head. I really think at times people who say stuff like that are contributing to the decline of society, take poking someones eye out for instance. Even if somehow by carrying say a knife, a ladder, a table (yes, I've actually had someone say that to me whilst carrying a dining room table to another room) or a chair managed to extract an eyeball, that only prooves the people who did something like that are total morons at best, doesn't mean everyone who carries something around is going to poke someones eye out.
Have any of you guys got any similar things that people have said?
