Don't bother trying to help people or defend yourself

You'll just end up spending time in Jail.
Serves me right for Trying to stop my brother from continuing to beat his girlfriend who is half his size. For being concerned for others safety in my home. For simply holding out an arm in self defense as he lunged for myself and mother. Apparently an instinctive defensive gesture is battery in the lovely state of Nevada. Apparently it's on the same level as getting your face punched in which resulted in broken skin and a bloody nose.
So I got to spend some time in jail, pay a $600 bail, and have to go to court later where I'll probably have to pay money to take classes. All because I tried to defend myself and others against a man who was on a rampage.
God bless America, all hail the justice system.

I'm sorry you had to go through that, let alone be put in jail for defending family and yourself. What the shit is that?
In the end, I believe what you did was RIGHT and the system is just SO wrong.
The thought of it being the right thing to do just really isn't comforting at all to be honest.
