I challenge you, politically

Yes, you sir! And you, madam!
I want you to stop what you're doing RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND.
Do I have your undivided attention?
If I do not, then come back when you can give it.
If I do, then please listen to me.
I recently visited someone's page after they were kind enough to Watch me. Out of consideration to them, I am calling them by the androgynous descriptor to protect their privacy. I scrolled to their likes and dislikes. In the dislikes I saw some pretty foul and vile stuff. A slang that insulted me to the core and an ignorant clumping of my beliefs with the beliefs of madmen like Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptists.
My first inclination was to debate them, point by point on this matter. To deconstruct the stance they had taken. To tackle each thing that offended me so since as of late I've felt downright persecuted for my beliefs.
But then I stopped and began to think.
Why do they have this opinion? How truly often in their life has a Christian wronged them personally? How often have they gone to a Tea Party and seen with their own two eyes that they're not nearly as bad as they're made out to be by hackjobs in the media?
I do not blame this person for having this stance. For they trust what they hear and see on the television. They take it's word for it, never having before *needed* to see something with their own two eyes.
Then I began to think more.
How have Leftists personally hurt me? And I'm not counting online debates since that's only so much hot air.
Apart from a few instances I can count on only one hand, there's nothing.
How often have politicians hurt me though?
Plenty. Oh sure, they don't personally come to my door and kick me in the shin and shit on my couch.
But through their actions does ruin visit me and my kin.
And perhaps, in all fairness, the same could be said for Right-leaning politicians.
Thomas Jefferson suggested a long time ago that perhaps it would be best for the whole cabinet to be flushed out. Every public office in one grand motion to bring in new blood.
Friends... we've not hurt eachother for political reasons no matter what side we're on. And those few that have, and they exist on both sides of the aisle, make NO mistake, are the crazy ones who don't represent their side.
Who has hurt us though are the politicians. We need to look at the people running for office with a microscope. Their privacy is forfeit if they wish to serve us because that is a sacrifice they must be willing to make. Only those who are SERIOUS about service to the public are those who will endure the indignities and serve us.
They have made the mistake of thinking themselves our masters, our royalty.
We are NOT the cattle they take us for.
The paradigm is already shifting. Push, my friends. When you vote, look at the merits of the people, not the letter that comes before their name.
And be it for God's sake or for the sake of sense and reason, do your research on these people. If you can't be bothered to research the candidates, then do the rest of us a favor and don't vote. This isn't a fucking popularity contest or beauty pageant.
That being said... I hope you all have a good day and I thank you for your attention.
God Bless America.

None of them, neither Democrat nor Republican are absolutes and it is *dangerous* to think in absolutes.
Neither of them politicians though they may be, wake up in the morning and think 'How am I going to ruin parts of this country for gain, be it personal and monetary or for oppressing it to instill my world view onto them?'
They wake up and do what they think they're *supposed* to do.
Corrupt Republicans do backroom deals with companies to get legislation that cripples some businesses and rewards others, or bails out failing businesses (Though corrupt Democrats do that too, so it's bipartisan screw-uppery) and play god with the marketplace (Such as Nixon. People forget his real crimes. Not the enemies list, but the government-control of the market which caused a recession) while corrupt Democrats sell out parts of the country and civil liberties while parading around the false notion that they support the very same liberties they're strangling, all in the interest of controlling people because they believe they know better how to control people's lives than people do.
Am I off base when I say this? Perhaps. I've thoguht long about it. You *did* sound rather charitable towards Democrats just now, as if to say that their intentions and hearts are pure but they're just not strong enough while Republicans are fangly demons.
No more of that.
No more absolutes from either of us.
No more calling the Occupy movement a bunch of drooling, sycophantic, scum-collecting, business-killing, anarchist/socialist/communist supporting, loafing bottom-feeders who wouldn't know a real job if it fell out of the sky, landed on their collective faces and started to wiggle.
No more calling the Tea Party a horde of blindly flag-waving, gun toting, bible thumping, beer guzzling sister-humpers who all think everyone Christian is totally boss and everyone not is a terrorist while bashing gays and meting out punishment to people who are remotely different.
No more of this ponzi scheme.
You want the truth, Zae?
The politicians all belong to the same club and put on a marvelous little show for us to watch and root for while the filthy dealings go on behind our backs.
Rethink everything you know about how the world works.
The paradigm is shifting.
And it's time we de-program what's been instilled.
And I don't want to just change the political scene or how people run the world, either. I want to change how people think and see the world around them. That's why I formed the Kitsune Society: To bring forth a philosophy and paradigm that puts an end to this insanity. A philosophy built around harmony with nature, the importance of the arts and the world of mythology, the unity between polar opposites and the notion that the greater good must come before instant, petty self-gratification.
So yeah. It's time to change things around here.
We need progressives who've actually worked a day in their lives and we need Conservatives who aren't afraid to move outside their comfort zones.
Most sensible people you find of those two tiers are just mayors and city councilors.
But yes, two terms and no more. And no lifetime terms. Even for judges.
