I'm having some difficulties with my current story. Not plot wise, or even character wise.  fox_forrester's character, Hikari nearly writes himself. And the other characters are rather static, but rightfully so, as they only play background roles. The problem I'm having, is that the plot seems too close to another work that I am very fond of.

That, and I feel the need to express that there is a highly distinct line between me (my fursona, who is inseparable from who I am), and the character I have made for FA, who uses the name Xenex.

I am not Xenex. Xenex is merely an alias utilized by the greatly exaggerated version of me featured in the upcoming story.

The fact that the character Xenex is a greatly exaggerated version of myself, is what makes the plot so similar to a work I am so fond of. Death Note has been a great influence on me, but Xenex is no ripoff of L. Xenex hasn't the same strength as L. But since I have been influenced by the fictional character, I have adopted some of his characteristics. And those characteristics have been exaggerated in Xenex.

Maybe these problems won't bother me once the story is complete. We will see.
