Petsmart work day
Well before i start talking about my work adventure today, let me tell you about Saturday. It was pretty much uneventful. I was dead tired at work because i didn't get any sleep before hand. I woke up Saturday morning around 9:30am. I ate breakfast and watched movies until 1pm. I tried to lay back down and sleep some more but i just couldn't sleep. I did that three more times through out the day but to no avail. So i went to work at 10pm. About 3 hours before we were off we took our hour lunch, which consisted of grabbing dog beds and sleeping on them for an hour, and if anyone is curious the orthopedic dog beds are pretty damn comfortable. I would buy one of those instead of an air mattress if they didn't cost 90 bucks for the large one. Anyway when we got off of work at 8am we all ate at Cracker Barrell. Then i went home around 9am. That was pretty much it for the Saturday overnight.
This morning was pretty crazy. First off i had to be at work by 3am so i woke up around 2am. I was almost late for work because i was looking for my wallet, that apparently my two ferrets Dremel and Kia had stolen and drug under the bed so they can chew on it. Lucky it wasn't that badly chewed and nothing was missing or destroyed. I guess they don't like the taste of leather that much ha ha. :3
When i walked threw the door to clock in, my coworker and I discovered that the floor had been completely re-waxed and they forgot to tell us the night before. So, that means that everything on the floor that wasn't bolted down had to be taken to the back. What fun. So we spent the first 30 mins bringing everything back out to the floor and getting rid of any trash they had left over from the night before. We had to have all this done before we received the trucks which had 18 pallets, which is alot for us as were not that big of a store.
So the first truck backs up to the dock, and come to find out after he opened the trailer doors, some of the pallets had shifted inside the trailer spilling all over other pallets and knocking everything to the floor. That was great. Its not hard enough work that I spend my first 4 or 5 hours moving 40 lb bags of dog food, now i have to pick it up off the floor because the dumb ass's at distribution doesn't know how to make a stable pallet. But anyone who works in retail and receives trucks knows that the most annoying people you deal with are the ones you cant talk to face to face, so I'm pretty sure the people at distribution really doesn't know what fuck ups they are.
Throughout all the mornings complications i managed to stay in high spirits and enjoy the day. And i don't mean to make this story sound boring, its just with all the product we had today i didn't get to see any of the pets that people brought in except for one large black lab. He was really sweet and friendly but he was fat ha ha. Now i know that its not healthy for pets to be over weight, but personally I love fat fluffy animals lol. :P Hopefully tomorrow I'll get to see and interact with more pets.

I remember that happening when I used to unload trucks at Wal-Mart... Yogurt and laundry detergent are a PAIN to clean up.

Freezer pallets were the worse I think... I nearly had one crush my foot, my shoe being too long saved me XD Oh, and those water pallets were pretty crazy too. I don't think I ever had to move a pallet of JUST flour, but I bet it was a killer!
